Lighten up North Koreans, it is YOU that is being gangster like, NOT Japan.

Stop fishing illegally and keep out of Japan's waters. Simple as that.

Seriously? The NK's were illegally fishing in Japanese waters

29 ( +34 / -5 )

Release the video, show the world what happened, and tell NK to shut the @@@@ up!

26 ( +29 / -3 )

"We strongly demand that the Japanese government compensate for the infliction of the material damage by sinking our vessel," the unnamed spokesman said. "If such an incident occurs again, Japan will face an undesirable consequence."

What will you do exactly? Try anything and NK will be wiped off the face of the earth.

Next time keep out of Japan's EEZ or you can be sent the bill for the rescue!!!!

North Koreans looking for refugee status?. Will they be sent to South Korea?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Hmmmm, who to believe!!

-15 ( +4 / -19 )

It seems to me that the appropriate response to North Korea would be to charge them for the fully loaded costs of the JCG having to deal with this illegal incursion.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

So, Japan caused the accident in a deliberate way. Okay. If this is true, why it saved the Korean crew? I admire Japanese patience with both the Koreas, seriously.

DPRK are suffering from delusions of grandeur...it takes 2 to Tango!

The boat was fishing illegally within Japan’s waters. End of story NK. Get over it! There is a port in northern Australia filled with scuttled Indonesian fishing boats that were caught fishing illegally in Australian waters. Get over it little Kim.

25 ( +27 / -2 )

FACT:

-Japan use the water gun to sink the boat.

-absolutely no proof of illegal act from north Korea

We are supposed to believe the Nippon propaganda until when?

when we arrest a boat for whatever the reason, we are not supposed to destroy it.

what about the get some feedback from the victims to check the truth...

deliberate and "a gangster act" by Japan, which should take steps to prevent future incidents

How about firing a missile over Japan on to the pacific ocean, ain't that a gangster act?

Your mouths should be stuffed with the rotten fish you caught.

This kind of neighbourly threat is exactly why Japan need a proper military, without the limitation currently imposed on its offensive capabilities (i.e nukes, ballistic missiles, aircraft carriers) as deterrent.

Let’s see the video....please?

The first time this story broke out I said we were hearing one side of the story. This is the other part. Now, I'll wait for THE resolution.

Tell them the check's in the mail.

A fishing boat illegally in Japanese waters, compensation...sure just return honestly the persons or remains that were abductees and there is a start point. Then we can talk about compensation but be aware NK have to sell lots of drugs to pay for their heinous crimes. Nippon Kaigie go to hell.

Terrorist demanding compensation very funny they should b served only ammunition straight from double barrel nothing less

Earlier this week I wrote on the post, "I can almost read what the NK news had lines in the paper will read "Poor North Korean fish boat is rammed by Imperialistic Japanese war ship" lucky escape for the crew who were picked up by other NK fishing boats, that came to there brave rescue, they were luck to be alive! blah blah!, NK is seeking full explanation from the Japanese government, blah blah, demand some sort of an apology, blah, blah just to finish off how about some flag burning?"

I humbly apologise "imperialistic war ship" was a bit strong, it should be more like "Gangster act" ( bowing deeply) I still might have to apologise again if there is no flag burning.

Give them 30,000 yen. Considering their costs for material and labor, hat will be enough to build three.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Oh come on guys, how much can a few pieces of scrap wood really set you back?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

.. threatening even the safety of its crew."  You mean like, when they rescued them?

NK's rhetoric and demands have nothing to do with Japan; it's all about having something to show on the Stalinistic-style "news" broadcast for home consumption.

N.Korea: Pay up for sinking our ship!

Japan: Please send us more of your rustbucket ships so that we can sink them.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

This is DPRK's way of saying thank you for rescuing all 60 members of their fishing mother ship? Perhaps Japan will not be so generous next time around. I remember when they caught the 'fishermen' who stole all that equipment from a Japanese island recently, and that time too they sent the crew back home, after treating one of them in hospital. But maybe ordinary lives are cheap in DPRK, and equipment is more valuable.

We must feel sorry for the numerous crews venturing with illegal nets into far-off waters because DPRK has already sold the rights to their own fishing grounds to the Chinese.

Ichi man should do it.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Japan should send the bill to NK for whatever the damages were to their ship, for rescue, food, lodging and for transport.

Every NK fishing boat caught should be scuttled on the line. This is what lots of SE Asian countries do when boats registered to a different country are found illegally fishing in their waters.

I wholly believe that this could lead to widespread famine in North Korea. They people there already have very little food. Their leader is a mad man. I think that it was cruel for Japan to have sunk their boat. Poor North Koreans. I think that the Japanese government should try to seek migrants from North Korea to relieve the suffering that is happening in that country. Maybe this would show the world another way which I solemnly believe would lead to world peace.

Finally found a photograph of the 'hit' mark. This does not look like the best place to be 'ramming' anything.

And on the news today they showed the Japanese government refusing to consider any such payment.
