It is right for PM Abe to make sure he and Trump are on the same page. It is to be hoped Japan gets the exemption to resume trading with Iran, a very friendly nation to Japan.

20 minutes talk ? That is 3 minutes for Abe, and 3 minutes for Trump, after translation time correction. How many seconds of the 3 minutes talk is related with Iran ? Probably 60 seconds, at most. Let us see how Private Abe deliver that short message to the president of Iran.

The Iran crisis is entirely of Trump's making. At this point, the best we can hope for is that he will declare another "victory," like he did with his trade war with Mexico, take a victory lap on twitter, and proclaim himself the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
