Watch the CCPs response to this. It ought to be interesting.

RIP.....A great leader and may Taiwan soon become a full fledged independent Republic free of Chinese threats of aggression.

Shame on you, Abe, shame on you.

"Shame on you, Abe, shame on you."
Eh, the mutual histories of China, Japan and Taiwan are complicated. Nobody knows what may or may not have been communicated privately in diplomatic channels. There may have been threats made by China. We don't know. Sometimes it's better not to push ones luck with adversaries. Save it for a more appropriate time.
Fumio Sakuragi
Abe exhibits a nation of split identity despite the Chinese bombardment of fishing boats as well as government and/or military ships in the recent weeks. This reminds me of Neville Chamberlain's appeasemnet of the Germany Nazi in the 30s. Lee Teng-Hui knew enough about CCP, which has blatantly broken its legalobligation to abide by two-system-and-one country with high degree of anutonomy. Covenants or contracts count little. Requiescat in pace.請安息

His Wikipedia status read:
2nd lieutenant with the Imperial Japan Army from 1944-1946
then straight to be a member of the China Communist Party from 1946-1948
then as President of the Republic of China under Kuomintang then supports the Opposition after he lost the Presidency...
wow, He just have to be on the side of the party in power.

You must be kinda eating da-kine old meat!
LTH never lost an election ! Instead he's responsible for the peaceful transfer of power when the DPP's Chen defeated the KMT's Lien.
Ya sound like a fan of the Communist Party of China.
Hiro S Nobumasa
Yet Mickey Pompeo still adamantly refuses to personally go to Taiwan to convey the American peoples respect for the late President LTH but won't hesitate to go to Beijington to shake the hands of Chairman XI or go to Pyongyang to watch a basketball game with Comrade Kim and Dennis Rodman!
What a shame!
Hope that such an attitude doesn't signal the start of the decline of the USA.
Trump should replace Pompeo with Clint Eastwood to MAGA!

The Japanese people should demand that Suga himself go to Taipei as the representative of all the citizens of Nippon .
Failin to do so means that the Bushido Spirit and the Samurai Spirit is no longer part of the Japanese inner persona but already one that is a puppet of China.
PM Abe must use his much vaunted strategy of using his civilian capacity to go to Taiwan and say his final farewell not only to a personal friend but to a father figure to all Japanese and even the Ryukyuan people.
If he can do it in Yasukuni then why not in Taipei?

If I were in Taiwan, I wouldn't anyone coming from Japan or USA. Taiwan doesn't need anyone to bring the virus. They're doing fine.

My deepest sympathy.
