China’s new principle - many countries, one system

The tough US stance against China will ease considerably under Biden, a corrupt politician who is wallowing in Chinese money.

Where do these lies come from? The poorest member of the US Senate isn't wallowing in money of any description. By the standards of US politicians he's the poor man because he isn't corrupt like so many others.

That seems to be Mr.Xi's fondest dream. But take heart. In a decade China's glaciers will have melted to the point that runoff to the vital Yellow and Yangtze rivers will be greatly reduced. China's demographics are such that the working age population peaked in 2014 and has declined ever since. The total population is peaking now. By the middle of this century China's population will have declined below 1 billion. The decline will not stop either. In northern China the fertility rate is down to 0.5, meaning only one baby is born for every four adults. It is the lowest fertility rate in the world. China's cities are that unlivable. China doesn't have enough arable land to feed its population and is losing more farm land every year to desertification and to expanding urban centers. China puts up a smiling confident face but the reality is bleak indeed. In a decade or two China won't appear so overwhelmingly powerful.

You can be sure that China will try something in SCS or in East China Sea or in Taiwan Straits as soon as Biden is inaugurated to rile up other countries and test American resolve. The incoming administration should preempt that and sail a few ships from the Seventh Fleet into SCS first thing after the inauguration.

ASEAN is indirectly headed by USA which has more military presence in east China sea than China. Meanwhile China, most populous and largest country in the area is considered an outsider by the group.

The only pro-American country in ASEAN is Singapore, and even Singapore has a lot of ethnic Chinese chauvinist Singaporeans who sympathize with China and are opposed to their government's stand of aligning with the US.

With their wild territorial and littoral claims which affect as many as 7 out of the 10 ASEAN nations, China should have been boycotted by ASEAN long time back but because of trade and economic considerations China has succeeded in making inroads into the regional bloc supported by their staunch allies Laos and Cambodia.
