Thawing? At least there’s a smile.

And indeed, Moon got the concession from Abe 6 hours before the expiration time.
Then Abe changed his mind on the last day and notified Moon that he would discuss lifting export control 6 hours before the expiration time.
No, Abe changed his mind on the last day, so Moon gave Abe 40 days to lift the export control or else.

For those who like quoting unofficial remarks from unnamed Korean government officials, there are from Japanese officials too.
SK begged Japan by asking "let president Moon save his face" a proposal for compromise came up at Ministry of Foreign Affair at one time but Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry rejected it and held its firm stance, Abe "never give even an inch"

1965 aggrement will stand. Money paid back then should be paid by South Korean government now in 2019. Supreme Court ruling in Korea can stay, but the person paying should be the Korean government.
Japan already back down on the comfort woman issue and paid again in 2015 with apology given. What happened to that agreement? Guess Koreans can change their mind like they change underwear.

1965 treaty stands.
1965 treaty doesn't cover damages, however and Japan is still liable for damages claim.

South Korea just signed a defense agreement with China - to develop security ties. This is in response to Trump asking Korea $5 billion and Japan for $8 billion for protection money like a mob boss.

Got a link for that? I’m interested in knowing more.

Trump demands SK to pay $5 billion up from some $923 million last year. China is trolling Trump: You wanna jack up your prices? We’ll offer SK a deal.

South Korea and China agreed to develop security ties. That's a pretty far cry from Chinese military bases in South Korea, or China agreeing to defend South Korea from North Korea. Especially since they effectively control North Korea. It's South Korea doing what one would expect from them in the face of US demand for more money.

A little karma perhaps?
No, this isn’t anywhere near the Mutual Defense Treaty between the US and SK or the US Japan Security Agreement, but you still have to watch out for China. They are saying we are here if you need help, and it’ll be Korea not Japan that switches if at all.

Wartime issues will always remain, it is a part of history, and it is not a problem for northeast asians, because we are positive people, and we are smart people.

Doubt it. Just another South Korean bluff that will end with them folding. South Korea hasn't even started to experience US pressure yet. They have already wrecked their source of crucial components for their electronics industry. How would they like the export market for them closed as well?
