The US masters will be happy.

Japan's LDP regime goes to arms race while making citizen poverty, it's like North Korea.

Japan really know where to put priority, try to ask how those budget can be used to fuel future growth.

There will be no actual answer, sucking teeth.

The US lobbies in Wall Street make sure they have their own share of profits from the arms industry in America, in time for Christmas. Again young families and pensioners in Japan are second class citizens for the LDP

Kicking the tax can decision down the road as all politicians like to do.

Ishiba's the militarists' point man and tax-collector. Mission Accomplished!

You people complaining that japan increasing defense spending somehow attributes to a better profit for the United states are not informed. You do realize that its actually the major Japanese defense contractors and corporations that profit off this more? Ever heard of https://www.sumitomocorp.com/ja/jp want to see who the titans are? https://www.mordorintelligence.com/industry-reports/japan-defense-market/companies. Do some research for 5 seconds, not everything is a TLDR in life.

Also, the more japan spends on its own defense budget the better tech it develops and and less reliance on American Defense industry the country has. The goal would be to eventually enter into a more autonomous relationship. Japanese having greater autonomy would mean, oh that's right Japan making Japan decisions that are good for japanese....Novel.

Ishiba will never revive the economy with such a military focus. It's a fool's errand, simply more Govt. inefficiency and waste. Japan needs a PM who can restore true 'animal spirts' of capitalism, not an outdated NEOCON.

It's really nothing like North Korea at all. What total nonsense.

Whenever Japan talks about it's defense or security challenges against the bullies in the region, without fail coming out of the woodwork and the first to criticize are the Little Pinks or 50 cent party members!!

Using our tax money to support the American military-industrial complex. Brilliant.

Text all the decision should always be at the public's choice and Public's vote. America should be paying us $200 billion a year just to use our land. And it is our Land world war 2 was over a long long time ago.

Corporate tax hike huh, glad I own almost no Japanese stocks.

Surrounded by rogue nations with nuclear ambitions, Japan today needs to enhance its defense capabilities continuously. It’s good to see the budget has been approved.

Do we get the right to use it to attack the Chinese around Taiwan then? Otherwise not really worth it.

Still 1% of gdp.

It’s good to see an increase of your commission from US State dept, I’d imagine, even though that means more instability and likely wars. But, hey, everyone has got to eat :)

The big Us military industrial complex will never allow it.

The top big 5 world manufacturers in the world are all Americans. How do you think Wall Street Nasdaq Composite and S&P

500 reached historical highs? Certainly not allowing any other players to enter the game.

The top big 5 world manufacturers in the world are all Americans.

And the next 5 are Chinese.

How do you think Wall Street Nasdaq Composite and S&P

500 reached historical highs?

The other 99% of the economy.

You can still buy the Christmas presents this year ;) I know your point: who cares about morals? And before Trump will take over. The big US military industrial complex is already taking care of American investors :)
