Good for France - another ally of Japan, and another freedom-loving, democratic nation that believes in Rule of Law. It would be good to see France step up and have a much greater military presence in the Western Pacific.

It must be important to build up against counties with totalitarianism by many counties
So it was very worth for Japan to be able to confirm the importance of security of the territories in the Indian and pacific oceans with European country, which is France. Also Germany.
