China views Taiwan as a renegade province to be reunified with the mainland, by force if necessary.

The CCP autocrats know how successful Taiwan has become and want to see whether they can turn it into a province under their control and skim off profits for themselves. Were China to take control of Taiwan, it could further enrich the CCP barons at the expense of the Taiwanese people, who have worked so hard to build their nation. Empires leave sovereign . states alone, first fix the problems within your current boundaries before trying to spread your problems elsewhere. And leave your war machines within your borders. Stop wasting fuel and polluting the planet to display your military might.

This follows on from typical backstabbing behavior from the 'alliance'. Talk nasty and threaten, then ask for dialog? Like USA threatens Venezuela and demonizes them, then asks nicely for oil. I thought Maduro wasn't the legitimate president, so why ask him and not Guaidó?

Has Kishida finally realized China is a major trading partner? China has become a punching bag for people wanting to take out their anger due to their own mistakes and misfortunes.

They do mean it, but they’ll also play along and sing the Anti-China Anthem. This shows that they are not 100% with either sides, the US or China.

This is the most beneficial for Japan: access to the Chinese 800 million middle class market and first class security alliance with the West. Smart choice.

Right on. The two sides should be engaged more in dialogue in regard to territorial and other security matters than simply resorting to saber rattling. No eye for an eye nor a tooth for a tooth diplomacy to resolve such matters.

A dialogue with Xi is meaningless.

He needs to make it clear that Japan does not always agree with USA and has no intentions of creating tension with its neighbours (that’s all USAs wrongdoing) so please leave Japan alone

My contention is that merely resorting to saber rattling won't solve international problems, not to mention actually opening hostilities. Russia was completely wrong in this sense when its armed forces began "special operations" against Ukraine, aka, invaded it.  

Tell me specifically why you think I am wrong.
