Good to see the red carpet being rolled out for a solid ally.

He cannot run a country, where the citizens are docile and compliant

-13 ( +6 / -19 )

It would be perfect if he does it on April 1st! There is really zero "need" for this, other than a desire to prop up domestic polling numbers, as he is trying to copy Abe "diplomacy" and the people of Japan swooned when he went abroad.

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

Will he be served a hamburger for lunch just like his predecessor, Suga?

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

I agree. I think April 1st would be a better date to address US congress. April 1st would be just perfect for both sides.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

Wonder how many pledges he will make.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Oh puh-leez...just another ploy to boost his dismal ratings and to show that he's a "strong" leader.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

There might not be a Speaker of the House after March 8th depending on the outcome of budget negotiations and the reaction of a certain faction within the House of Representatives.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

I hope Mr. Kishida will work on advancing Peace and prosperity instead of wars and defense talk.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Kishida to address U.S. Congress

for what?

he’s gonna talk about how NOT to run a country?

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

His final farewell. Great try Kishida san! Great try!

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Kishida can likely lecture US Congress, Japan's deficit spending LESS bad than US at this time! Most serious analysts expect US Govt. deficit spending to be b/w $2.5 and $3Trillion for US Govt fiscal year ending 30 Sept.

Thus, US Govt. deficit spending about 10% of US GDP, as interest rates remain HIGH and unfunded US Govt medical & pension liabilities skyrocket past $100Trillion!

More amazing, US 2024 GDP growth projected to slow vs. 2023, even with above fiscal insanity!

Maybe both Japan and US should consider emptying their prisons and sending them to Ukraine to fight? Throw in a few violent illegal immigrants as well. Would be an interesting policy agenda for Kishida and Biden!

-12 ( +0 / -12 )

During his visit, Kishida is most likely to pledge that Japan will further strengthen its long-standing alliance with the United States and play an active role in ensuring peace in the Indo-Pacific region and elsewhere.

That's all that matters.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Yet another foreign state visit, and we hear yet another one planned for Brazil in May, does Japan have a functioning prime minister, or is he just one more, all mouth and overseas trips?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Free and open Indo Pacific! Rules based international system! Thank you.

We don't savagely throw away lives like that. Also Ukraine doesn't want such useless troops.

Kishida unable to actually assist US Oligarchy Globalist War & Satellite/puppet democracy machine much, why?

Accumulated Govt. debt, aging, depopulation, world's far and away largest and longest economic ties to China.

Japan needs ability to pivot to BRICS, mitigate exposure to US global destabilization, global de-dollarization etc.

Thus, US, China and Japan Kabuki Theater continues!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Kishida understands Biden's badly wounded, terrible approval and rapidly aging politician, who's not likely to get re-elected given history, betting markets, etc.

Kishida needs to lay the groundwork for working with an upcoming likely Republican Admin, suspect he's seeking face time with Speaker Johnson and next Senate Majority Leader(?) as old crow "Mitch" is too old.

Many do not realize, d's defending 23 Senate seats, WV gone with Manchin retirement, about 9 others in play. R's defending 11 seats, best pickups for d's, Texas & Florida = NO PICKUPS, Senate's Republican led next Jan.

another twisted conspiracy

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Kishida San fully aware Biden's the definition of a puppet President, who's more and more not likely to run again. He also knows unelected donor class special interest globalists are running 1600 for the next 11 months.

Everybody knows above, Biden's a figurehead, making the world historically dangerous and destabilized.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Everybody knows

Yawn.

What next? ‘Nobody cares’?

Some bubble. Suffocating.

Dollar doing good and nobody is less democratic than China, except possibly NK.

Kishida's in a tough spot, d's collapsing, both Biden and the Senate are gone next year as things stand, meaning Ukraine will have to settle matters in negotiations soon.

Furthermore, US NATO Proxy, Ukraine "satellite/puppet" showcasing to entire world dangers of enlisting in US Oligarchy Special Interest Globalist "Democracy", and its global destabilization and risks of WW III that matter not.

Democracy dying as result, world's moving towards BRICS, and their partnership domestic non-interference de-dollarization model. Kishida understand the above reality, so he must perform Kabuki magic acts!

Only gaslighters would say it is decided. Biden remains very close and the Senate is still easily holdable with only three swing contests.

Said no country ever.

Dollar still strong and even the scummy BRICS claim to be democracies.

Btw, the Democrats are up in all three swing contests as well. We could very well have a lame Trump shouting at the walls while the court cases mount up.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The key being non-domestic interference, no matter the political system. Not possible with US led Democracy, that's based upon interference and destabilization of their transactional globalist special interests.

Beauty of BRICS, everyone welcome, as its partnership based and not organized around a political system. Kishida understands this is the clear global trend, economics and politics are being 'fire-walled" because the US proven completely unreliable and destabilizing.

Kishida see the winds of change, all of OPEC moving towards BRICS, most of global south and as a professional fiduciary he has to be mindful of the facts on the ground and the clear trends taking place.

The only interference of concern is from the dictatorship cabal of Russia-China.

The "beauty of BRICS" is tagging along on China's usury scheme. They have their own problems at home now, though.

OPEC still taking US dollars and South America ain't looking too promising for BRICS.

Trump's odds today of winning 2.5:1 vs. Biden.

Senate odds of going Republican WAY higher, as WV seat's flipped, Manchin retiring, d's have no likely pickups, r's have b/w 5 & 10 in play, several their favored.

Anyone can check the odds, Kishida surely is aware of US political realignment coming, plus RFK Jr. and nutty Harvard Prof. could do major damage to d's in NOV.

Hopes, feelings and biases do not help with analysis.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Key is radical globalist special interest destabilization policies are being shown exit at 1600 and in Senate. Kishida needs to hang in there, global stability will likely much improve if we can somehow safely get to 2025.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

Looking forward to his address!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He is sure to address in his Congressional speech that the bilateral ties between Japan and the U.S. have been strengthened and that Japan would share more responsibility in its defense, thus doubling and tripling its defense budget despite the pacifist constitution.

Accordingly, U.S. bases in Japan, especially those in Okinawa, will be more strengthened and fortified with Japanese taxpayers' money; the construction work of Futenma relocation to Henoko will be further facilitated despite a strong local opposition.

What a sad state of affairs it will bring about!

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Good to see.

There is no closer friend and ally to the USA than Japan - and this is reflected by this official announcement today that Kishida will address the Joint Houses.

If this antagonizes the opponents of democracy and freedom - and some comments above display this - all the better.

No developed nation wishes to join a Communist-led trap called BRICS. Certainly not Japan.

Let it go.

No developed nation wishes to join a Communist-led trap called BRICS. Certainly not Japan.

No true fiduciary leader like Kishida can afford to be guided by the past. Dozens of new countries have applied to join BRICS and many more in the process of doing so. Can you name ONE New Democracy?

Nice thing about BRICS, its domestic non-interference policy that's partnership based, so "A" political, everyone welcome. Obviously, India & China far different politically.

Rapid Global de-dollarization, BRICS the catalyst, as too much G-7 money printing & accumulated debt, causing too much global inflation = HARM to Global South.

Kishida needs to ensure Japan Inc. not walled off to Global South and reduce Japan's heavy exposure to US nonstop and broad-based global destabilization policies.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Japan is under the US military thumb and lap doggie to the white house

Roll him up in the carpet morelike

Agreed, only WH now completely unhinged and reactive, as serious democratic insiders struggle with how to best get Biden and Harris to step aside for Nov.

Biden's easy part, 'health reasons', everyone gets it, but it's Kamala's the Rubix-cube = Ambitious and DUMB (failed first CA bar exam), that's a Dangerous Combo!

Kishida knows serious changes coming to DC in 11 months, political re-alignment, thus dealing with a lame duck admin all the more challenging given the growing portfolio of unresolved and worsening global problems...

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Kishi, please don't give away the country..

Samurais would roll in their graves by watching you..
