Slams, how? Verbally?, with a decisive strike? Intelligence gathering? A very sad and concerned face...?

Japan has no practical threat due to articulate 9 but we should not say that. No refugees that helps too, oh 11, got to watch them. 1000 years ago this was going on without bombs so perhaps a rethink might be in order.

Inocents should never be attacked for a political or religious agenda, if you can't vocalise rationally your point, shut up, don't kill to prove it.

@cricky My sentianents exactly. Nippon Keigi is playing a dangerous game for the citizens of Japan. We may be able to protect our shores and airspace, but missiles, suicide or car mobs, lone wolves...basically one of the most basic human rules of violence is, if someone attacks you or your loved ones...get revenge! Not sure if The U.K. has ever killed a single foreign citizen (who might be angry), I guess I should check wikipeadia.

Japan is unlikely to be at risk given its relatively sensible immigration policy compared to the idiocy of Angela Merkel, however you can't rule out terrorist attacks occurring.

So, the Japanese condemnation of the attrack means that the perpetrators are also condemned.

Therefore, Abe, by siding with the U.K. has put all Japanese at risk of entering a potential fray-that was the intention, wasn't it?

@Akula

If we're actually going to play the blame game; perhaps less to do with immigration policies and more to do with international policies. Such as the illegal invasion of Iraq and the vacuum created that allowed the likes of ISIS to come about.

If indeed, it is that bunch. Could be a lone wolf who hated his life and the lives of others & decided upon this cowardly act. It's all speculation for now.

Terrorism spreads it's ugly, brutal wings across the world It is the destroyer of anything and everything free and democratic and it's despot manifestors would kill all humans but their own few fanatical, cold blooded murderers any which way they can ! All they know is to kill and kill again mercilessly !

This is why all civilized people and countries must unify to eradicate them !

The aim is to wreak torment and abhorrence, killing societies most venerable, children teenagers ruthlessly without conscience. The perpetrators want to fan the flames of conflict without end, a continuous cycle of hate, provoking communities to appoint scapegoats.

Society must root out the extremists, not lash out.

no words are strong enough. This was close to home for me. Respect to old friends who keep us all safe every day.

Targeting a mostly kids attended concert. Words fail me. Total ....you choose your expression. Whatever your choice Isn't strong enough.

but although an uncomfortable thought, can we condone our military killing children too and writing it off as collateral damage?

Two wrongs are not a right.

is Japan ready for stuff like this when the constitutional changes are pushed through

i expect to be deleted too.

Don't let the heavy handed moderation put you off. The sentiment is appreciated.

Actually, if you want a list of terrorist acts commited around the world by people of the religion of peace, I can take you way back - dare I say even hundreds of years like Zichi.

No Stop this nonsense. People have grievances going back to WW2, WW1, and who knows how far back.

People who do this need to be killed and any group supporting them needs to be crushed.

All religions have their extremists. Have you heard about the killings of Rohingya people in Myanmar?

The Christian religion has a bloody history of violence and persecuting others; the sectarian violence between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland?

The Irgun and Stern Gang attacks in Israel/Palestine?

No religion is without extremism. Simple pontifications on who should be killed and crushed is of no use to anyone. In fact, it merely prolongs conflict and hatreds.

@Toasted Heretic

No one ideology is blameless.

Agreed, but nothing in this world is equal. Some ideologies are infinitely worse than others when we place them into a particular time and place in history. In 21st century Europe, we have a clear frontrunner.

You're correct, however the problem is in casting the net too wide.

Radical Islam definitely appears to be the ideology that is the worst at this moment in time. However, the problem is when people group all Muslims into that ideology. The overwhelmingly large number of Muslims are not practicing radical Islam. For that matter, the biggest victims of radical Islamic violence are other Muslims.

People need to recognize the problem is with extremists, and not with all Muslims. Unfortunately, many people conflate the two.

Yep. A truth that's often ignored for some reason. Why do people conflate the two? Every day, every opportunity, it's omnipresent online. The "they're all the same" mantra.

Why do people conflate the two?

Fear, and a feeling of helplessness.

Fear, and a feeling of helplessness.

I'd add a few more reasons as well but they'd be deleted sharpish, like.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

This is very true, but not on this scale of what we have been seeing the radical Islamists have been doing over the last 13 years.

You obviously entirely missed the point of my post.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Perhaps it is time to do some thing and not be afraid of hurting feelings. But of course these explosions are somewhere else so not to worry yet.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

There goes the political ideology of Islama again. Hard to argue it is a religion when state law and religious belief is intertwined.

I seriously doubt any other country noticed or even cared that Japan denounced the attack.

Now they have the identity of the terrorist.

Salman Abedi, his parents came as refugees from Lybia, North Africa. What else to say.

I wonder if Shinzo is aware that he is putting a target mark on Japan's back. Like has he literally not learned anything from incident with Kenji Goto and ISIS few years ago? Japan for some reason can keep its mouth shut and support whoever they want to support from the "Shadows" and not publicly. It looks like Japan real wants to poke that bear that was poked before by western countries and their military in the middle east. People seem to be surprised when terrorist attacks happen but haven't you noticed the pattern that most of these attacks against France, Germany, Belgium, UK are because their troops killed innocent people all over middle east. Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria etc. The "allied" troops killed people first and now when terrorists are seeking revenge for their dead people are like "BUT WHY ARE THEY ATTACKING US???". Plain ignorance. Japan never participated in such atrocities because of its constitution and that famous article 9. But now when Shinzo is seeking to rewrite the constitution completely what will become of Japan? It's like he forgets that the Olympics are 3 years away, you really wanna provoke terrorists and give them a reason to come and bomb Japan? This is really dangerous game he is playing just to lick the boots of his "allies". Is he willing to pay the price with Japanese lives? Again?

Evert nation has expressed condolences. Even China which has it's own "Muslim" problem.

It's one thing to express condolences and completely another to "condemn" and pledge support against terrorism.
