Boycott the Genocide Games 2022.

Send instead へずまりゅう a most disturbing/hated Youtuber with even criminal records to celebrate the Genocide Games. The J government wouldn't bother helping him out should he "vanish" or get caught as a political hostage. In that way Japan can also make its position clear; the Beijing Games is already a bad joke enough to be a prey of disturbing YouTube programmes.

and genocide, don’t forget that. The pictures of warehouses are proof.
Ubesh
If you boycott the Beijing Games then you have no excuse to boycott the Doha FIFA World Cup Games as well. The latter are far worse human rights abusers than Beijing.
gogogo
Of course they won't, the US didnt and Japan will copy

Is it wise to make a statement saying that at some point we are going to make a statement? Why bother. Talk when you’ve made up your mind guys.
Who wants to bet that Japan will find the perfect way to try and appease everyone (and no one ) at the same time? It may even be in their strategic interests to dance with the devil a bit on this one. So, now that you have our attention, when can we expect this response Mr Hayashi?

This is the key here, I think Japan send should delegates, just like India.
Playing both sides have its good point.

If national interest equates to doing the morally right thing, don't send anyone, but if it's economics, they'll send a delegation. Principles vs. money. Money usually wins. Maybe he can split the difference and send an "offering" like he does to Yasukuni shrine...
Ricky Kaminski13
Canadian; I don't think it's that black or white. When you think about the long game, and the role that Japan may be able to play to de-escalate tension in the region, then you can see the utility in taking a soft approach on a range of issues to bring China back to the international dinner table. Morally we all get your point but strategically you have to think about things from all angles. Japan has its own historical context to deal with and consider as well, so it's complicated.
A Canadian
@Ricky - Good point and well taken, I agree it's not as black and white as principles vs. money, but I am also of the opinion, perhaps incorrectly, that China is fairly well entrenched in their current course of action and will not come back to the table unless it's with guarantees that the west and Japan will not compromise on. I should have added in the above that in reality, Japan's national interest goes hand-in-hand with American interests to a large extent as its main ally and so they won't send anyone, or they will send a delegation comprised of no one of consequence.

Below is another indecent, knee-jerk remark by The Global Times, a China's state propaganda daily. No wonder the CCP has remained globally despised and laughed at. Don't forget where this pandemic mess got started.
BTW, Twitter is officially banned in China, why are they breaching the rule?

At his age, he still doesn’t onow the “national interest”? And he’s the prime minister? This guy is more undecisive that Suga. We’re doomed.
englisc aspyrgend
National interest, so morality, decency and principles will not even be considered.
Boycott the Genocide Games.

Have to agree with @quercetumToday on this one. You cant forget the genocide.
Lets also remember the CCP locking up people in Hong Kong for being patriotic and wanting to improve the government model in use through change. How awful that people should think for themselves and ask for a better type of representative government.

Boycott China PERIOD! At this day and age they are self centered and if they had their way they would conquer the world! The PANDA has to crap in his pampers one day. He will not be a ruler for life!

China has several re-education camps in the western areas which resemble prisons.
China can deny but it’s fake news….

A Canadian, get the feeling that they are in performance mode with their current wolf warrior carry on. It’s aimed at a domestic audience and we in the west , enemy number one ( maybe two, behind the old nemesis Japan ) have seen this stuff before. Nothing knew at all about this sort of behavior. It’s as old as humanity itself.
To make light of a serious situation. What would a real kung fu master do to a fake bloated, blinged up one, soaked in new money but little sense, trying to pick a fight?
Buy them a beer mate!
Attend their party. Bring a bit of calm and downtime and if all goes well a bit of laughter to their inner storm. Japan may just be the dude to play this role. Save the world. It’s a big play, but it’d be cool. Japan the mediator. Not out of the realms of possibility.
They just need to make a decision and have a plan! Gambare nippon , your move! ;)
Radovan Stojanović
We all know that they will decide what USA tells them.
ReasonandWisdomNippon
Pressure on Japan as always. We already took a stand on Taiwan and joined Quad Alliance to balance China.
Anything on South Korea?? Don't see any pressure applied to them about the Olympics. Don't see pressure on them to defend Taiwan, join Quad Alliace. Always about Japan doing more while Korea gets a pass.
Desert Tortoise
Baby Ping Ping is having a conniption fit, lol. The Chinese have threatened retaliation for the US political boycott without yet specifying what measures will be taken by way of retaliation. I assume the Japanese are waiting to see what the Chinese do before making up their mind. A real profile in courage here. Thanks Japan for standing up when it counts.

What's interesting is that domestic Chinese media are silent on the matter. All the Chinese official comments are made on Twitter which is blocked in China. What the US is doing causes the CCP loss of face and they will not allow that among their own.
Strangerland
America bad cop, Japan good cop?
Desert Tortoise
More like America bad cop, Japan cops a plea.

In other words, "We will decide on our own, but we completely agree with the reason for boycotting, and we also completely agree with China. We understand that sending a delegation despite the human rights abuses, which we agree on but which we agree China has a right to say they are not, is equivalent to condoning them, and with other countries that may be true. But with Japan, please understand, and please don't consider us that way. It would be regrettable."
