Made me wonder how much power does the military hold over its government. Is it the true power in South Korea?

That will be another story if Yoon is put behind bars !
kennyG
Thanks to SNS and unpoluted small media, it is well known by now Yoon was the one who has benn dealing with North agents inside South including a disgusting criminal called 이재명
kennyG
South Korea politics and those main lefty-figures are just insane, you should have known it enough by now.
Hope Yoon would make this big reversal against all odds. This is unfortunately the reality of South Korea. Too many SK people LIKE being agitated as to step out at midnight holding candles to join the party, IGNORANTLY,
without knowing that fact they have been all fooled by handful anti-state North Korean force.
They can never wake themselves up. If Yoon fails on this brave plan, and this criminal Lee comes back, That is the end of SK.

이재명 is not a criminal, he is the hope for South Korea. The Korean people just don't want Yoon's appeasement to Japan because it was an insult. China is what they want get along with !

In America or Japan, it's almost unthinkable for an ex-offender to become a politician, but it's different in Korea.
More than one-third of Korean politicians have been convicted of a crime.
In a country where even presidents have been convicted of crimes, it doesn't matter what criminal record Lee Jae-myung has. He is the hope of Korea.
There can be no one other than Lee Jae-min as the next president.
Just like Park Geun-hye, she will climb Tiananmen Square, a symbol of the oppression of the people, and lick Xi Jinping's shoes. That is the right way for Koreans, who have been slaves of China since the dawn of history, to live.

Latest update.
The conservatives are pitching a February ~ March Yoon resignation followed by April ~ May presidential election schedule to avert impeachment, since this would technically be faster than the impeachment route. The conservatives fear the second consecutive presidential impeachment more than the inevitable Lee Jae Myung presidency because this means the collapse of their party for good, there is no second come back.
Lee Jae Myung is currently polling 5.5 times the strongest conservative candidate for the next presidential election.
@stormcrow
Almost none. All they do is to beg for more money to parliament, which ironically the Democrats are more receptive than the conservatives, and many former generals including the former 4 star general and the chief of staff are Democratic legislators.
@kennyG
Yoon can't. There are currently 3 independent investigative bodies competing to see who can be the first to arrest Yoon; the police(Neutral), the public prosecutor(Leans right), and public servant investigation(Leans Left).
Even so, even the public prosecutor won't cover for Yoon, in the arrest warrant issued to the defense minister, Yoon is listed as the mastermind of the coup plot, which carries the minimum sentence of life in prison, the max is death penalty(Not carried out, so life in prison). Yoon will spend the rest of his life in prison unless pardoned by the next president.
There is no presidential immunity for the crimes of treason and coup.

Breaking news.
The conservatives just voted for the special independent prosecution into Yoon's coup attempt. They are literally giving into everything but the impeachment, that is the special parliamentary appointed prosecution against Yoon plus the February ~ March Yoon voluntary resignation to avoid the impeachment proceeding, which they deem as the party ending event.

He really is? How pathetic situation for Korean people if he really is.
appeasement to *is not apprpriate wording. Yoon's approach has been just natural as it should be.Be the world's guest. Japan wouldn't and shouldn't care

So you're saying the Korean people all want to go back to being a Chinese tributary?
It was Japan that forced China (Qing Dynasty) to finally recognize Korean sovereignty in 1895.
