The Japanese Imperial Army committed horrendous crimes during the occupation of Manchuria and Korea…these continued during the War in the Pacific. Japan needs to get this resolved and finish it. These are very dangerous times and unity must be the focus as the CCP and N. Korea continue the pose a serious threat to the stability of the region and the world.

Japan: "We urge you to forget all history aside from when Japan was the victim. Even when the aggressor, we were still the victim. Pearl Harbor? Self-defense! It was Japan that was attacked! Sex slaves? Where? I don't see them! That little old lady? Lies! Millions upon millions in Asia slaughtered? Lies! We taught them to bathe and write! They love us in Taiwan, why can't you love us, too?"

What's wrong with your eyesight? Huh? You apologized for THINHGS happened during your ruling era, and the one who swore to demand no more apologies keeps punching you.

Japan's position is not only correct, it's the only one that they can have. In 2015 South Korea and Japan negotiated and concluded the 2015 Comfort Women Agreement, touted by both nations as "Permanent and Irreversible". Japan complied with South Korea's demands, paying compensation money (which was suppose to go to the surviving CWs) together with an official apology from the Japanese Prime Mininster.
Then Moon comes into office and unilaterally rips up the agreement. South Korea has not given Japan's money to the surviving CWs or returned it to Japan.
Obviously, since South Korea unilaterally broke the agreement, it is up to them to offer a solution. That is, IF South Korea is sincerely seeking a solution. Because 6 years later, with Moon having worsened SK-JPN relations to a historical low, it's looking very unlikely.

The meeting wasn't even pre-arranged in accordance with the diplomatic protocol. Hayashi was contacted by the Korea side while he was on the way home, and he was drawn into "a few-minutes chatting on the feet" in the corridor. No substantial progress was made, as highly anticipated, under such a context. No surprise.

What?
Good
Everyone involved should claim victim status and scream until everyone sees things their way.

Japan has repeatedly apologized and paid for its war crimes, while the Moon administration dissolved the comfort women fund that Japan started, threatened to pull out of GSOMIA, and lied about consulting the US.
South Korea needs to stop blaming Japan and indoctrinating its children to hate Japan. This is the country where people set themselves on fire at protests, children drew pictures of Japan being nuked, gas stations refused to refuel Japanese cars, and a district tried to put stickers in classrooms saying “This device was made by a war criminal”. As a child, I grew up with my own parents constantly reminding me of what Japan did eighty years ago as if it happened yesterday.
The hypocrisy, self-victimization, and self-righteousness make me ashamed to be Korean.

Yes, he has that entourage strut and swagger going on. South Korea doesn't know what its up against.

Looking badass there, Hayashi!
Let's see how this goes.
