the incongruous amalgam
how much more corruption does the public need to learn about until they finally get rid of this garbage?
Capuchin
There's no part of the government's response to the pandemic that hasn't been used to fill the pockets of Abe and his old boys club.
Hopefully now that the lockdown appears to be over the Japanese public keep the pressure on the government, hold them accountable for their selfish actions and not let things slide back to the status quo.
Alfie Noakes
Endless corruption, endlessly.

What an opportunity for change! Can't someone step up to the plate and get rid of Abe and his old boy network or is it too entrenched for that?
HBJ
Corruption pure and simple.
Such behaviour seems to be endemic in the Abe government.

It seems this government and Dentsu are connected at the hip! And it always leads to some form of scandal. Olympic bribes, Dentsu. Skimming billions of yen from a project to help small businesses, Dentsu. Workers committing suicide because of overwork and no oversight from the government, Dentsu!
Tom Doley
This coming from a self proclaimed developed country?

This is business in Japan, I worked in a company doing a job for NTT with 7 layers of companies above me. We had hardly any budget and several weeks to get it done because they spent 90% of the budget and time on trying to out source it cheaper and cheaper.
JeffLee
Why are an advertising company, a marketing firm and a staff recruitment agency handling applications for business subsidies? None are qualified for the job, it would seem.
Anyway, the government should require the "council" to subcontract its work through public tenders. Problem solved.

Amukudai will never die. Bansai!

Folks this is a text book example of the LEGAL institutional corruption that is absolutely pervasive ALL over Japan & has been going non-stop since the end of WWII!!
Because in institutional & your run of the mill corruption THIS is, along with wasting taxes & pilfering pension funds are WHY Japan is so so so expensive & WHY Japan is so so so in debt!!
Japan is small, albeit long, with a large population, IT SHOULD have been able to do a lot much more cost effectively, BUT due to the legal & illegal corruption here we are today with a very high cost (low value) society with debt at obscene levels
The LDP have been doing this 7+ decades & counting unabated.
Sadly I doubt the voting public will do much of anything, they haven't in 70+ years......would LOVE to be proved wrong though!!!!

OK lets cut to the chase.
1) The Service Design Engineering Council in Tokyo consists of 8 part time members. They immediately gave all the work that they had been assigned to Dentsu. Didn't touch it at all.
2) They kept 120 million yen for labour costs at the organisation.
That's a nice round 15,000,000 yen per part time member of the council.

Amakudari at its finest.
Resign with a large retirement benefit and then move on to another bureaucrat created zombie company and continue to suck the public dry.
Unfortunately this will not wake up the populace from the spell.
Cricky
They are not even trying to hide their greed and corruption. And then the "denial" which is worthless as its obvious what happened. That's tax payer money Mr minister and it was earmarked to go back to tax payers? Not your friends. Who like yourself receive ample tax payer money 10 times the average wage. But you need more? Utter greed, incompetence and total disregard for any semblance of pride in your work or responsibility.
commanteer
I still remember Abe saying he would immediately resign if he was linked to that nationalist school scandal. After a suicide note by one of his ministry employees revealed Abe's involvement, he's still there - shameless and brazen as ever.
BertieWooster
What can we do about this? I'm getting sick of reading reports of the scams Abe and his friends and relations are doing. I can moan about it with the rest of us, but isn't there anything that we can actually DO?

Exactly!
But the public gave the LDP mandate to enact on moves that would open the doors for J-INC to further fill their fat pockets, by buying into the whole SOE BS narrative.
This is what you wanted...
kyronstavic
Since an toddler brandishing a wet lettuce leaf knocked over the LDP’s entire opposition, they have no incentive for improving their business ethics. We’d be silly to expect anything better.
blahblah222
By the end of this crisis, all the ruling party politicians and their families will see billions of yen in their bank accounts while taxpayers would be lucky to get even 50% of the money “spent” for aid.

Drain the swamp ........hahaha its infested , has always been infested, will always be infested, you can swap the alligators is all the swamp will always be infested, even after you drain it, it will remain infested.
Its not actually a swamp, its a festering cess pool like all governments, just stinking disgusting cess pools.
TARA TAN KITAOKA
Why is this kind of actions always happening ???.
Bjorn Tomention
I got an email from their cess pool about the 2 mill yen im entitled to on sunday after noon at 4pm , im thinking WTF they working over time or WTF is going on here, its a corrput pile of doggie doo doo that some one is skimming off the top off its so obvious, just gutted that I wasnt smart enough to have been able to put the flcik to gether to enable to get a cut off the thing as they took the % outta the govt money on the way through on every deal they did
Tom
2 billion yen.... imagine how many Abenomasks we could have gotten for that amount!
Ricky Kaminski13
Oooooh don’t you just love the grubby little opportunist. Lurking, waiting, thinking they will get away with it while everyone’s focused elsewhere. And don’t you just love it when they caught red handed.
Enjoy dem apples boys, hope it was worth it. Boom!
Watch the combover sweats, fast stuttered talking and attempts at bowing.
Snakes.
kurisupisu
Are there any ministers that have ever admitted to corruption ?
I didn’t think so...:
TARA TAN KITAOKA
All the water from the Japan sea will not clear this corruption action.
