Wakayama might be a good choice, they have a beautiful beach thats very clean and not polluted like here in Tokyo. Having a casino near a beach is ideal.

to host a casino resort as a way to revitalize the economy of the western Japan prefecture,

Wahaha. Sure. Not to fill someone's pockets right? Don't make me laugh.

@ Kenji, well said! I think Wakayama is a more appealing choice than Osaka, for an Integrated Resort. Especialy in summer season. Many holiday options. Osaka people, I am sorry. But you will probably miss out on an Integrated Resort.

beating a challenger backed by the Japanese Communist Party.

Beating a Communist in Japan is not hard! Maybe in PRC it is! Lol

Not polluted except for those times they beat hundreds of dolphins to death right? Why not just sell tickets to the dolphin fighting and show off Wakayama's culture to the world? Taiji Casino, if they stop the slaughter I'd go there. Till then, not a flaming chance.

The benefits of a casino?

More drinking, prostitution, pawn shops and a transient population.

The proverbial Garden of Eden......

Japanese Integrated Resorts will not be like USA Casinos. Those things wont be allowed. Licenses will be very strict. Security and CCTV everywhere. And gambling is only a small part of the Resorts business.
