Every year new bottom support rate for JGovt? Anything new in Japan?

Imagine being surprised that the scandals from 3 administrations+ ago that were never resolved in a way that was explained or banned, happened again.

LDP LDPs as usual when they never get taken to task for their shady dealings. Approval ratings don’t mean anything when your getting voted in anyway.

Ishiba San doesn't have much charisma but is not bad person. Every PM gives gift vouchers in similar way, 100%.

Every PM gives gift vouchers in similar way, 100%.

That's because bribery is so endemic in the LDP that it's like second nature to them and they can't see there's anything wrong with it.

Ishiba doesn't have the charisma necessary, either internally or externally needed to drive his agenda. Everyone can tell he's not a good fit as a result, no matter the 'merits' of his intentions to help Japan.

In truth, Govt. cannot help Japan as it's been terrible Govt. policies since bubble's burst destroying vitality and animal spirits of private sector with BOJ money printing fueling Govt. 'cloaked' Socialism like Biden tried to copy!

You're missing the point. The private sector in Japan has pretty much bought the government. How do you think LDP politicians can afford the stupidly expensive election campaigns?

The weekend telephone poll also found that 71.6 percent of respondents opposed Ishiba's distribution of cash-equivalent coupons worth 100,000 yen each to such lawmakers of his Liberal Democratic Party.

Those phone polls mean about as much as the time, knowledge, political literacy and care levels of your average J punter that picks up the phone. You can make magic with the wording of the question too.

Were you happy with the cash gifts given from the politician that said he was anti cash gifts?

“um, naaaaa! That’s terrible! “

Narrative creationism , it’s an art form these days. Not even a fan of Ishiba, but bashing and tearing down is easy. Do we want another revolving door PM period in Japan? Who is next in line and pray tell what do they want to do? A bit of policy talk would be nice, but that stuff is way too boring ね!

Nice choice of photo btw!

Preferable to someone like Shinzo Abe staying in power for years because no one can get rid of him.

Who is next in line and pray tell what do they want to do? A bit of policy talk would be nice, but that stuff is way too boring ね!

I don't think they want to talk about their real objective, which is basically the bare minimum to keep getting re-elected. I suspect that as long as they've got their jobs, their bloated salaries and unearned perks and privileges they don't really care much about doing what's right for the country.

Sadly agree. The if nothing is disastrously wrong don’t fix it mentality. The architects of the lost decades. For a culture based on hierarchy they don’t do leadership to well do they?
