Biden, who U.S. officials say feels very close to Kishida, hosted him at his private residence in Wilmington, the president's hometown in Delaware, and praised the Japanese premier for being a "visionary and courageous" leader over the past three years.

Both Kishida and Biden had legacies of warmed over neo-liberal policies they tried to dress up in more progressive terms which failed to benefit the majority.

Visionary and courageous they were not.

biden is just too old.

after the election, the nippon steel acquisition might go through. you know, change some little thing and all is wonderful.

all presidents and prime ministers are failures in the arena of party politics.

And both of them will be gone from office in weeks.

Two lame ducks without a clue as to what is going on.

Using tax payer money to just party. Absolutely nothing got done and signed or agreed etc. This was just his free trip to the Us. Wake up Japan. His party needs to be ousted

-12 ( +8 / -20 )

Not a word of criticism from the fawning Kishida.

Isn't it clear that Kishida and the LDP fully support the US and UK genocide in Gaza and terror in Lebanon?

-25 ( +4 / -29 )

Remind me of Kishida’s legacy?

Apart from being an avid prepared script reader, I can’t recall anything slightly memorable…

The US-Japan Security Treaty makes Japan a vassal state of America.

The treaty does not protect Japan. To the contrary, it endangers Japan.

And it hampers the ability of Japan to protect itself from disasters.

The money flows to military contractors while temporary shelters in Noto get flooded.

After smiling with Biden, Kishida will go to the UN and pretend to be a progressive leader.

-19 ( +4 / -23 )

Under such circumstances, Japan is increasingly seen as an indispensable ally not only by the Biden administration, but also by a large majority of Democrats and Republicans.

Japan is by far the US's most important ally in the region, and the relationship should be strengthened as much as possible. I think that's obvious to everyone apart from Trump.

Australia is just as dependable, but its geography puts it on the sidelines somewhat. India's democracy is shaky (though, luckily, Modi was chastened by recent elections), and it's taking time to emerge from its relationship with Russia. (That said, this relationship can certainly be useful, as it keeps communication lines open, and checks China's influence with Russia.)

Elsewhere in the region, Taiwan is very dependable but the political situation with totalitarian China makes full cooperation difficult; the Philippines is dependable but lacks power; and South Korea's reliability swings wildly depending on the government.

Kremlin/CCP propaganda.

Back up your claims with tangible evidence, please, or it will rightly be dismissed.

The treaty does not protect Japan. To the contrary, it endangers Japan.

See above.

And it hampers the ability of Japan to protect itself from disasters.

See above.

Farewell and good riddance to both of them. Both of their terms have seen more and more people suffer financially.

Don't be so naive. Or perhaps you know already, but US does NOT have allies. It has interests. And vassal states.

-10 ( +8 / -18 )

I think most people would like these two to step down as representatives of their country.

The United States is a very important country for Japan in terms of politics, economy, and military. Since China, Russia, North Korea, and South Korea are enemy nations, the only trustworthy countries around Japan are the United States and Taiwan.

The promotion of QUAD is necessary, but it is still difficult to say that it is foolproof.

The alliance with the United States will continue to be important in the future.

Standard propaganda line again. Just another day on JT.

We will see the truth if China (or anyone else) ever attacks a US ally. The US will unquestionably respond.

That photo of Kishida holding Biden's hand raises a naive thought: as a "normal" human being functioning and free of cognitive dissonance, I wonder how shaking a withered blood-stained hand with the deaths and maiming of tens of thousands of babies, children, women, the old, sick, whole triple-generation families wiped out and the total destruction of a society on it, can put a smile on a person's face?

and that society would be?

Biden, who ended his bid for another four years in the White House in July, has repeatedly praised Kishida for significantly increasing Japan's defense spending amid the severe security environment in Asia.

Right, and what was the point? Nothing discussed nor planned between the two will not be implemented under a Trump or Harris admin.

No direct affect on day to day activities in the posture of National security of the APAC and allies involved.

By the time anything at gets appeal or approval. It will be swept aside by a new admin come November. A sheer memory these two ever accomplished together. Think of if as kind of hold your breath and government shut down during admin changes. As new appointees come in the chain of command. Like I said a total showpiece.

But how much Baskin Robbin ice-cream was eaten?

Who is running the country? Jill Biden? Never in American history have we had such a negligent President.

While two attempts on the GOP nominee and former President. How can any Democrat stand with belief and pride. With a Democratic nominee and current V.P. that has utterly failed the American people at the borders and allowed 3,3 4.4 million to cross. No one knows the real number of illegal crossings. Democrats are you seeing these Latin gangs taking over apartment biding holding elderly and single Mothers are hostage in apartment buildings where they are supposed to be safe? Democrats want a borderless country. America is in crises. Trump is right. Shame on Biden for holding this Quad trifecta ice cream eating farewell party.

Shame shame!!!

We've had dumb a** populists and incapacitated presidents before.

By that measure Biden is doing pretty good.

While two attempts on the GOP nominee and former Presidents life. How can any Democrat stand with belief and a sense pride?

Because Trump is an inciting nutter and nutters are the ones going after him?

With a Democratic nominee and current V.P. that has utterly failed the American people at the borders and allowed 3,3 4.4 million to cross. No one knows the real number of illegal crossings.

And none of them with the right to work.

Democrats are you seeing these Latin gangs taking over apartment buildings holding elderly and single Mothers are held hostage in apartment buildings where they are supposed to be safe? Democrats want a borderless country. America is in crises.

Haven't seen any gangs in my apartment complex.

Trump is right. Shame on Biden for holding this Quad trifecta ice cream eating farewell party.

Trump doesn't like alliances because they displease his master in the Kremlin.

That's easy: they know Biden has prevented the same in Ukraine and is prepared to do the same for Taiwan.

Then see it. And ascertain it. Own it.

A note to self. The individuals in the video have been arrested and confirmed as illegals that crossed under the Biden Harris Admin.

Let this hit home for you Democrats safe on Japanese lands.

Since then, the gang has engaged in violent assaults, threats of murder, extortion, strongarm tactics, and child prostitution as they have exerted a "stranglehold" on the Aurora apartment complex. That's according to a letter sent to Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman, Aurora City Manager Jason Batchelor, and the interim police chief that was obtained by CBS News Colorado.

Please, both would be assassins registered as Democrats. Both omitted motivated into heinous actions by leftist media force fed. Love how you try to flip your spin Democratic views and blame us for everything wrong with the world.

Explain this.

And who is running the country with Harris on the campaign trail and Biden in Delaware?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Is all you can do is volley insults of the former President and spew copied and pasted leftist based media tid bits?

How can you be taken seriously? Believe me I am trying to see your points and be reasonable.

The death of the left extreme trend speeds ever so closely, the Democratic tone will change one way or the other.

And why? The American people are fickle and will demand it.

Case in point. When was the last time the American people stood united regardless of gender, race party, sexuality, affiliation. When did we all stand in shock and awe? As a country. We stood hand in hand, hurt devasted and broken.

I will give you some hints.

NYPD.

NYFD.

Mayor Giuliani.

Boeing 767-222.

Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah.

Rubble steel and stone smoldering on the ground.

Is this is what it will take to have us all united once again?

You could start by not illegally and violently trying to reverse elections that you lost.

You could also not nominate a sexual predator, proven conman, autocrat bootlicker, charity thief and inveterate liar as your candidate.

In other words, you could start with your own poor choices.

ClippetyClop

As I have control of the GOP? There are many Democrats and Republicans I would give my vote to for the betterment of the country. I am center right. Pro bipartisan. ( I LIKE TEAM WORK!) Harris is not one of them. However, I will have to say, of all those things you claim about Mr. Trump. I mean come on. They guy has been ridiculed since he came down the escalator and that is what enrages us. I would in turn say the same on to  you..... could start with your own poor choices. Stalemate for today. Have a good evening everyone.

Which of those proven claims do you dispute?

Self-confessed sexual predator and adjudicated rapist.

Proven fraudster.

Adores autocratic leaders.

Stole from his own charity.

Lies about everything.

I could go on. He's an incompetent criminal who oozes criminality.

If that is the kind of dirtbag you want to represent your nation then that's on you. Moaning about Dems telling you that isn't going to make Trump not those things.

Oh, and he already had a go at being President. And he was absolutely rubbish at it.

Wumaos have been poo-pooing the QUAD since inception. Understandable since China has no real allies, Russia now for convenience and little lips and teeth brother North Korea.

Originated by Japan's PM Shizo Abe, it came to life in 2007 but was out of commission in 2009. But it has continued strong since 2010. It may not be an asian NATO (yet) but the Malabar exercises still continue and get China hot and bothered. It has existed through various administrations and will undoubtedly continue to do so.

Throughout the active phase of the special military operation, the Ukrainian state is experiencing serious socio-economic problems, entailing, according to optimistic estimates: default of the state budget, growth of the socio-demographic hole, and exsanguination of the main state institutions of governance. Based on some pessimistic opinions, the continuation of zealous resistance of the Ukrainian army will contribute to the progressive destruction of the stronghold of Ukrainian statehood, as well as the extinction of such state-political phenomenon as "Ukraine" from the historical chronicle.

Ukrainian officials of the first importance, in particular, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, bitterly recognized that since February 2022, Ukraine's economy has lost about 30% of its pre-war potential, useful and able-bodied personnel have been lost (according to the UN, 10 million people have emigrated from Ukraine). Electricity and water supply disruptions occur daily in different parts of the state. One of the challenges may be the takeover of the NKREKU by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, which promotes a return to the policy of unification of tariffs for electricity distribution and will destabilize the remnants of Ukraine's economic stability. The motive for unification of tariffs will lead to the entrainment of revenues of the state monopolist NAEK Energoatom, which will have a painful effect on the economy as a whole. The consolidation of state intervention is a serious blow to Ukraine's accession to the EU and threatens European integration expectations. Another significant confusion can be safely attributed to the issue of Ukrainians evading mobilization. According to MP Natalukh: "About 800,000 persons liable for military service "withdrawn into the shadows" to evade mobilization". Roots of usuriousness have grown around mobilization: in order to be exempted from service in the armed forces, men spend 2 billion hryvnias a year on bribes. Before that, amid huge corruption scandals, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suspended all regional leaders responsible for the issue of mobilization. Since the end of August 2024, the principle "Fight or work!" has been introduced in Ukraine in order to bring the labor market out of the shadow state. Either a Ukrainian must go to war or provide the fighters with everything they need. All this brings the socio-economic situation in Ukraine closer to collapse. But the worst thing is that the current Ukrainian authorities have no understanding of the scale of this tragedy, which is devastating for the Ukrainian people. Instead, Zelensky's requests to Europe for missiles, ammunition, and tanks for Ukraine's impossible struggle are again addressed to Europe. But the people of Europe realize that their hard-earned money, which they give by taxes for the prosperity of their country, is actually spent on the murder of Ukraine. And here is the question, what will happen faster: Europe will realize the essence of the Ukrainian deception or Ukraine will suffocate in European aid and cease to exist?

If strengthening ties between the two countries gives negative effect on Okinawa, then their agreement is subject to severe scrutiny and rejection.

For example, refilling work in Henoko to construct Futenma’s replacement will keep going on despite the fact that the new base will be nothing but a white elephant in terms of budged and strategy.
