People are tired of this pandemic, want things to go back to normal. Looking to blame someone, and unfortunately Suga stepped in the line of fire.

Abe was corrupt and bluster. Suga is corrupt and clumsy.

27 ( +28 / -1 )

It's not as if people voted for him. Well he is LDP so I guess skip voting because the LDP always win.

22 ( +22 / -0 )

Something terribly wrong.

So he didn’t have a cure for the virus overnight now people hate him. Is everyone five years old or something? I thought Japanese people were good at being patient

-12 ( +6 / -18 )

No, no, no, this is a fraud! There is no way it's not well over 70% if not 80% or higher! The people love me!

The machines that took this poll are broken somehow, and I demand a repoll! Some how people who actually said I was doing a great job, had their answers changed by the machines!

I have perfect evidence showing that it's a fact!

I know that many Japanese nationals give him an approval rating of who cares? He is not known well, as of yet. ~ Michael Machida Reporting.

Why anyone cares who paid for a party is beyond me. Abe may have done a lot of things in the wrong way, but this is a non-issue.

Cancel the Olympics. Too much money spent on a non-event.

Give me the vaccine. I will be a guinea pig. I just want to get rid of masks.

And the LDP is no where near being either "liberal" or "democratic."

I know this is saying something, but has there ever been a Japanese Prime Minister as devoid of personality/emotion/human-ness as Suga?!

14 ( +14 / -0 )

So what? Have another leadership election and end up with another fossil in charge? Probably Aso, or more likely Abe, AGAIN. That is assuming his stomach has settled a little after whatever scandal he is currently involved in.

Get on or off public transport in Japan and your hands have been in contact with various bacteria and viruses.

Why no mandatory hand disinfection?

Support rate of cabinet don't matter in Japan.

Japanese locals will always support their local political family. Heritage is the most important factor in Japanese elections, and this is even stronger in younger people. So even if Suga's support rating is 0%, as long as LDP keep the political families in their party, they will still be winning a landslide.

LDP have a 80%+ support rate in people under age of 30, so this is just the beginning.

UK, USA, Australia, NZ etc has a two party system.

Japan, NK, Singapore, Somalia have a one party system.

we have to just trust suga’s one party monopoly and hope that they will suddenly care for ordinary Japanese citizens...no choice.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The problem is, he doesn’t set one false priority but only false priorities.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Suga will do better and better, need not to care about the polls. nobody can satisfy everyone

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

The UK does not have a two party system but you know that already. I think there in fact, 10 political parties.

True, but all have to choose between two parties to get a piece of the pie.

Good lord old men are only 50% popular?

Im shocked, nobody needs a new idea ans they give us exactly that no new ideas.

how could you hate cuddling old men? Ohh I see it now.

@zichi. Screaming Lord Sutch! Liked him a lot You are lucky to meet him mate.

one seat doesn’t change a law. Bojo has radical Northern Ireland partners, Israeli don has far right extremist partners, but in the end, whoever gets over 50% passes the law.

the one seat is chosen by the only two parties.

its not like he's stepping up. we'll do this, we'll do that. weak hands. hardly surprising really...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He was the brain behind Abe and still drives down the same road. The people will have to realize this in a couple of month. For those who sold their soul for cheaper mobile fees will realize maybe a month or two later.

So whats next - Let me guess Abe's brother Nobuo Kishi will step in next. Japanese style politics as usual : show me your golden Spoon = experienced leader.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It should fall another 40 percent by the end of the month.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Because he’s nowhere to be seen! Not reassuring the public that the govt are doing stuff about the pandemic. Not on the TV every few days explaining policies. He’s absent.

Why anyone cares who paid for a party is beyond me.

It's an alleged illegal use of political funds.

Abe may have done a lot of things in the wrong way, but this is a non-issue.

It's a crime and if the police and prosecutors let people like Abe off the hook when they would come down on anyone else like a ton of bricks they're complicit in it.

Support rate of cabinet don't matter in Japan.

Japanese locals will always support their local political family.

Not all of them. Not many of them, in fact. Voter turnout is always low and candidates only need a plurality of votes to win.

LDP have a 80%+ support rate in people under age of 30, so this is just the beginning.

That's a disturbing thought but given their crappy tastes in just about everything hardly surprising.
