But he will always be ridiculed for nominating trump for a Nobel Prize. That was the lowest moment of his tenure.

I can't wait until the door slams on Trump's behind on the way out. If he somehow does get 'voted in' again - I truly feel that will push the world into an abyss...

You nailed it. I couldn't agree more. Sadly, these are the times we live in. In this inter-connected world, with response (or lack of it) by the US to the climate/environmental emergency we face now SO critical, 4 more years of Trump = "That's it folks!... we're all screwed".

It's all boiler plate BS. Japan and America - never the twain shall meet!.

A word from Trump can seem more of a curse than a blessing. But fortunately the US-JPN alliance, as well as the US position vis-s-vis China, is bipartisan. A new US administration under Biden isn't going to change that.

When I have a great relationship with a great friend I don't mispronounce their last name EVERYTIME I've ever said it. It's very telling that no one on his staff has ever said anything to him regarding this...most likely he just doesn't care enough or respect another world leader enough to, at the least, pronounce a simple name properly.

Abe's sucking up to Trump got him nothing more than higher bills for security and bad trade deals. Besides taking care of his colitis, I think the burden of dealing with Trump will be a big relief. Abe shouldn't call Donaludo tomorrow. Japan may be stuck with bigger bills.

Oh yeah, he does. You don’t get to wear he is in life or even near the WH if you don’t have friends. He was a businessman before he got into politics.

Nice of Trump to give praise to Abe, one of the staunchest allies in Japan. One of the few leaders that Trump had the deepest respect great high point for both of them. Hope they stay lifetime friends. Kudos to them both.
