I was impressed that Biden got off his plane and went straight into a meeting with Kishida. Biden may be old, but he wastes no time.

I like Biden. I think he did an impressive job after The Worst US President In History.

But if we are being impressed that he can actually get off an airplane, it's time for him to retire.

Does doing a handshake like above make Biden seem more powerful than Kishida? Or is it just a better photo-worthy picture. I've always paid more attention to this kind of thing ever since Trump would consistently try to pull other presidents and prime ministers into him, and then got rebuffed by Justin Trudeau.

@maxjapank

Well it certainly looks better than Canada's PM's wide stance in South Korea.

When the internet goes down in a disaster fax machines still work.

"coercive behavior"

Not that the US has ever used coercive behaviour or supported dictators......

Good. Always good news when nations help each other.

Those semiconductors or AI systems are all quasi-dead tools only, fully dependent on electricity. Taken away the plug or the battery all this ‘advanced technology’ isn’t even working or a technology anymore. Real science always has been and is made only by humans’ thoughts and then written down with pen and paper, or later to be found printed in libraries or in pre-published research studies and patents. Just only writing down some new science results, that’s advanced technology.

Assertiveness sounds like “You cannot get ahead of us”.

The stagnant economy, high living costs, low wages and low fertility rate are the major survival issues facing Japan. These politicians are powerless to deal with these major issues that affect the lives of ordinary Japanese people, so they turn to so called China threat to shift the blame and fool people.

Some facts: Japanese firms are making tens of billions of dollars from trading and doing business in China every year that’s good for the people of Japan and Japan’s economy.

Wrong. Biden IS the worst President in History! Period!

Conspicuous among G-7 leaders, most of who arrived in Hiroshima by way of commercial air ports, was U.S. President Joe Biden and his entourage who landed at USMC Air Station Iwakuni near Hiroshima who must have flown directly from Andrew Air Force Base near Washington, D.C.

For Biden, the journey must have been like hopping from one place to another within the U.S.

What does this tell about Japan-U.S. relations, that is, Japan's international status vis-a-vis the U.S.?
