"Unifier?" One word never associated with the person saying it here. Justice will come slowly for this guy, as with all people convicted of horrendous crimes. It will take years!

Biden is such an honorable man worthy of respect. He loves Japan so much.

U.S. President Joe Biden ordered flags be hoisted half mast following the death of Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan. That's a heart-touching expression of condolences to the man and friendship toward Japan.
It shows how deeply Abe was loved and trusted by the U.S. government and the government-affiliated people. Former President Donald Trump expressed his deep sorrow, saying Abe was a great friend of the U.S. as well as a greatest leader of Japan.
On the flip side of the coin, however, this means Abe must have wagged his tail so frantically and blindly before his master, the U.S., and took its orders faithfully and sycophantically. Among successful prime ministers, Abe was the first who had ordered landfill work in Henoko be started right away to build the so-called replacement for Futenma.

"U.S. stunned by death of Abe; calls him champion of alliance"
Well, let's be honest. The reaction of the average American was probably closer to "Who?" than "stunned". And not EVERYONE considers 'champion of the alliance' to be kudos... particularly as 'alliance' here has a strong nuance of 'vassal'. An 'alliance' is voluntary and does not usually involve military occupation.
