No Mr. Suga. Your top priority is the Summer Olympics so stop lying.

Pathetic man believing his own sad stories

"top priority,"

95% Olympics

4% Maintaining feudal elite control of Japan

0.9% Covid

0.1% Steak dinners

But...does tackling COVID-19 take priority over the Olympics? That is the real question...

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Like the Olympics, if it would be in favor of Japan Inc. and LDP interests do not believe for a moment a snap election would not be held, damn the pandemic effects on the populace.

But not the Olympics.

Opposition candidates on Sunday swept a re-held House of Councillors election in the Hiroshima constituency, an upper house by-election in the Nagano constituency and a House of Representatives by-election for the No. 2 single-seat district in Hokkaido.

In a closer look, none of them was landslide. In Hiroshima, the race went through neck and neck despite the serious setback against the LDP over money scandal. At the Nagano district Democrats kept a strong support plus a "tribute battle" to the precedent Democrat who died suddenly. In Hokkaido, there was no LDP candidate running for office.

The results showed that voters are exasperated with an "outdated and corrupt plutocracy," said Yukio Edano, leader of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.

The conceit opposition camp shouldn't misinterpret the election outcomes. Many votes were cast as punishment for the LDP, but not meant to give full mandate to the opposition.

In the latest opinion polls, the approval ratings for Suga as well as the ruling LDP have remained intact or its declining trend seems to have hit the bottom despite a series of policy mishaps. Meanwhile, the opposition parties have continued to stay far behind, by even one-digit.

I'm not a LDP sympathizer, and this is just a forward-looking warning for the Democrats.

In all honesty, holding an election in pandemic conditions would be the height of folly, since the outcome is entirely predictable. Nobody ought to risk getting sick while voting, not even LDP supporters.

I'm not going to argue with you on that. One would think that with half a year left the bureaucrats could start planning for a mail-in election, but that would be too forward thinking I suppose. Best wait until there is no time left and then proclaim that no one could've foreseen the difficulties in holding a regular election!

It also takes priority over the Olympic games, but that has not stopped the government to force it onto the population as if it had no effect on the efforts against the pandemic.

Japan needs leadership not someone reading tea leaves.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic theme song should be "Nothing Else Matters."

And the Olympics?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Opposition candidates on Sunday swept a re-held House of Councillors election in the Hiroshima constituency, an upper house by-election in the Nagano constituency and a House of Representatives by-election for the No. 2 single-seat district in Hokkaido.

Vote all the corrupt LDP politicians out of office.

Priority 1 - Olympics - at the behest of those who are in charge of Suga.

Next priorities - anything else

5 ( +6 / -1 )

List of LDP priorities

1-) Olympics

2-) settings up golden parachutes for all the LDP elected officials and staff after they lose reelection.

3-) lining the pockets of as many people as possible before being defeated in the election.

4-) tackling Covid

5-) having the election.

I think I covered most points, can anyone think of some I may have missed?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic theme song should be "Nothing Else Matters."

Hey and the LDP campaign song should be "Crazy Train".

2 ( +2 / -0 )

But The Olympics still get top priority right? Ridiculous...

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Didn't take priority over the election which just lost them three seats, did it. Leave it to Suga and the J-government to decide, too late, what and when to prioritize something... and then still not even attempt to even thinly veil the fact that they won't anyway.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

In this one sentence, you have shown us you are unfit to be Prime Minister.

The head line for this is

Suga San says tackling the Olympics is Priority over the COVID-19

Given how low his emphasis on fighting COVID is, It’s not very much.
