U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy called China's position on the release of treated radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant "unfair" and "false" during a visit to Tokyo on Thursday.

"Unfair", "False"? I bet he slipped up again and said the truth about his Biden impeachment inquiry and Hunter investigations...

And wasn't the Repubs star Hunter witness recently indicted as a Chinese foreign agent?

Hmmm....

Here were have another person claiming the know and respresent the stance of the world. In fact, the world was not asked, only the elites. The world is being ignored, as per usual, as the elites choose the actions and methods that serve themselves best....just like they did when they ignored the tsunami data and cut costs on the sea wall that was supposed to protect the Fukushima plant.

Awh, it's unfair, so sorry, have some sashimi Kevin while in Japan.

Japan is backing the US on Taiwan, what do you expect China's response on the water release to be?

Who cares what China thinks/wants? Just another bully boy like Russia and North Korea.

Who cares what China thinks/wants?

Probably lots of Chinese people. Although judging on how their tourists clear out the drugstores over here it seems an awful lot of them don't trust their government's food safety declarations.

Just another bully boy like Russia and North Korea.

Yup. Be patient, the time will come when their own people will have had enough of them.

It doesn't work like that

Oh, yes it does. People tend to get very tired of/angry with authoritarian regimes, and those regimes are then often overthrown:

Enjoy your sashimi dinner in Japan, Mr McCarthy. Good luck and stay healthy!

It's none of McCarthy's business what China wants to do.

It's none of China's business what McCarthy wants to say.

It doesn't work like that

In China and Russia's case, it really does. They have a long of history of putting their leaders up against a wall and then tearing themselves apart for a generation. It will happen again.

We Brits have been observing this behaviour in tinpot nations for several hundred years.

Yeah, that's exactly how it works. Few dictators die old men. Humanity, which is inherently left, have little tolerance for dictators, and will take them out if/when there is a chance.

Japan is backing the US on Taiwan.... I guess the rest of that linkage to Japanese seafood is still being worked on. China isn't even bothering to hide its sanctions at this point.

Everyday, there's more evidence that goes against China's stupid, politically-motivated stance. China's OWN statistics PROVE that THEY are the TRUE Serial Polluters when it comes to wastewater releases.

"Chinese statistics show that 13 nuclear power plants in China each released more radioactive tritium into the ocean in 2021 than the planned amount to be released from Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in one year.

"Chinese nuclear energy sector data show the Qinshan power plant in Zhejiang Province released 218 trillion becquerels of tritium in 2021. That is about ten times the maximum amount of tritium to be discharged from the Fukushima Daiichi plant in a year."

Hypocrites!

Humanity, which is inherently left

Can you elaborate on this? Do you mean throughout history or that the majority of people in the world are left leaning?

"And it's just an unfair position that they have and a false position that they have from the rest of the world's stance," McCarthy

Oh that's rich. But I agree 100%.

McCarthy is horrible at domestic policy, but thankfully he's supporting Ukraine and standing up against China.

China puts more nuclear waste into the ocean than any other country, including France, which has the highest rate of nuclear power use in the word.

Additionally, China is approving 2 new coal power plants every week where the rest of the world is shutting them down. China (CCP) acting like they care about the environment is funny, and massively sad.

Always remember that anything put out publicly from China or people inside China, even good stores, have to be approved by the CCP committee. This isn't a law, actually the law says that anyone can be interviewed in China, but if any news about that gets out, the CCP "minders" quickly show up to "encourage" Chinese people not to have un-approved (i.e. with a CCP minder nearby) interviews. If they aren't approved, even good stores that show China and Chinese in a good light, get ridiculed.
