The kind of news that makes CCP supporters cringe.

This is a good thing - long over due - Liberal Democracies with similar values need to be united - step up our vigilance - we mistakingly thought that by engaging Russia and China on the world stage - would bring them into the fold...we were wrong - they invested all their wealth into weapons and land-grabs - I think all like minded liberal democracies need to pony up the 2% GDP on military spending - need to increase co-operation and co-ordination - and make tyrants understand it's too expensive continue with their belligerent policies

Foster closer ties with Asia.

Picture says it all. Wong the CCP stooge, Blinken the corporate mouthpiece and Austin the represenrative for the Industrial military complex. Not sure who the guy at the front is, the cinema usher? Should be quite a show, just add tap shoes from the JSDF.

Seriously, we know this show from the disastrous Afghanistan evac, we know Ukraine, we know Solomon Islands, it's a complete CCP orchestrated extravaganza.

Japan, please keep a ten foot pole in yoyr pocket when dealing with these people.

This article is about training and integrations. No idea what your reading but your reading war into stories simply because they contain stories of military goings on.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

i.e. We need your cannon fodder, money and hopefully disrupt the massive and still rapidly growing trade relationship with China. The fact that all those things are to the detriment of the population of Japan shouldn't matter.

Australia and Japan both face the same regional problem, an aggressive militaristic and colonialists expansionist China that has poured huge sums of money in to their military building not what may be necessary for defence but in to weaponry and systems designed solely for offensive aggression.

As neither are so foolhardy as to attempt to match that expansion the only logical defensive response is alliance and co-operation with other threatened and likeminded countries.

I'm reading the same article as you.

Everything is about ganging up on the crazy Chinese, which will in turn lead to war.

America, Japan and Australia can't resist but stir the pot. I think it's time the world sat down and spoke about peace, not troops and military hardware. I know that's what gives the military freaks a hard on, but still, enough

Nothing like dancing to that Pentagon War Beat. Looking forward to the incoming article about the first Japanese jet fighter visiting Australia since you know when.

Japan, Canada and Australia are being lined up as US proxies in a war against China, that is obvious.

China is putting secret police stations in Canada. When you put your secret police in a country without their permission, that's an act of espionage that can start a war. China itself has made Canada a battleground, and created an enemy. Canada is not a proxy, the Canadians are angry over this egregious offense.

This is a irst step to start war with China. China throughout its ancient history of many thousands of years has never attacked a country to conquer it. Or attemped to colonize a quarter of the world as Britain did.

China built the thousands of miles long Great Wall of China to defend itself. The British, Australians, U.S.A. and Japan need not fear China.

I wonder if the Tibetans would agree...

You sounds like one of the frogs in the pot of water - it's only lukewarm, what are you worrying about?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Strangeland, apart from sketchy media reports is there anything else to back up the accusation of Chinese police stations? From what I can see these accusations come from Safeguard Defenders, an NGO most likely funded by the National Endowment for Democracy or the EU. I don't see any solid reporting of intelligence agencies like the CSIS backing up these stories. It's easy to jump on the blame China bandwagon based on what you read in the news which is more often than not propaganda.

What are you on about? These CCP stooges (except Austin - he's on a better package from the complex) are doing China's work every day.

China gets cheap energy because of Ukraine war, so thank Blinken for that. USA now have no allies in Afghanistan because of the evac putting lives of Afghan allies in the Taliban's hands.

If Wong was in power back when, there would have been no AUKUS, and she's still trying to get USA to re-engage in Asia and Pacific, ie provide protection for CCP commerce.

All these CCP stooges in the photo are employing double entendre, and if Japan, Australia fall for it, we'd be back onto globalization mk2, and signing away our muddle classes.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

China has never been the threat. Time to distance yourselves, Japan and Australia, from the war-mongering rogue state of the USA.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Japan will always be ' invited in ' because of their Poodle metality and the fact that they have loads of money.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Yeah, China look what happens when you don’t play ball, pre 2012 or Ji dynasty all was going along great. Now by CCP own stupidity headed by the Ji dynasty has created the Quad and now the AJA on their doorstep with gun primed and loaded. If the Chinese citizens don’t remove Ji head they be sent back to the poverty black hole of the world.

An incorrect statement. It is about blunting Chinese attempts to grow it's empire and to change the peaceful status quo to ensure things are done China's way for the benefit of China first.

America, Japan and Australia can't resist but stir the pot. I think it's time the world sat down and spoke about peace, not troops and military hardware. I know that's what gives the military freaks a hard on, but still, enough

The pot stirring is being done by China that continues to build more weapons, more nuclear weapons, bigger navy and air force. And China continues to claim other nations and international territory as its own, and blames the reaction to China's military and territorial ambitions on everyone but itself. If China was a good global citizen, there would be no issues.

It is about time that China woke up to itself and behaved in a harmonious way with the region and wider world. Under Jinping, that is unlikely. So is the blame it and pro China posters wrongly heap on those opposed to Chinese belligerence. China is not qualified to be a world leader in anyone's eyes. It must first grow up and become much wiser than it currently is.

Such obvious BS is laughable. Tibet was invaded, conquered and remains occupied against the will of its people. China tells the world it will force Taiwan to become part of CCP ruled China even though they also do not want that. China has invaded other nations EEZ and built man made islands to illegally claim those territories and International territory as it's own. China is on an empire building campaign and it will begin wars to accomplish that end.

China must be contained militarily for the sake of all.

To me it was about defence. Changing of the balance of power. Security. If that doesn't happen the region is vulnerable!

The Italian government actively promoted them back in 2016 with Caribiniere conducting joint patrols with the Chinese inside Italy as recently as 2019.

That is just Italy. There are a score or more of other nations with the same or similar situation.

What are you on about? These CCP stooges (except Austin - he's on a better package from the complex) are doing China's work every day

You have never served in the US military. That is obvious. The relationship between the military, especially the procurement side, and the big defense contractors is generally contentious and sometimes outright adversarial. The corporations are run not by engineers but by CPAs and MBAs. They answer to shareholders who expect performance on stock price and cash flow, not on time, on budget delivery of product. Cost overruns and schedule slips are more profitable to them than being on time and on budget so it should be no surprise that the bean counters who run these firms excell at delivering product late or not at all and while being well over budget.

Meanwhile defense professionals biting their nails at how rapidly China is building their military want more hardware as rapidly as possible at the lowest price they can get it at. Unless you have been in this mess you have no idea what it looks like but it is a daily war to keep the big defense firms honest (most are not) and force them to comply with the contracts they sign while their dirt bag lawyers look for every excuse to get out of the obligations of their contracts. If you think everyone in the DoD and the defense contractors are buddy-buddy you are very wrong.

And if you think it is easy to get the taxpayers money back when a big defense contractor fails to meet their contract terms, read the sad saga of the A-12 Avenger. Over two decades in different courts including two trips to the US Supreme Court and the DoD never did get their money back. The courts didn't support the taxpayer on that one. Consider that when the F-35 program was re-baslined for being grossly over budget and behind schedule, the US Government program manager was fired while the program manager at Lockheed Martin was promoted.
