They will never give up on their nukes and would be foolish to do so. They see it as their only bargaining chip that gets them a seat at the big boys table.

We've all just got to live with yet another unstable country with the ability to send us all back to banging rocks together.

There is no stopping NK's fate now, it's leadership will be wiped out no matter what. Obviously the US isn't going to announce its strike plans to the public and NK before it happens. It will just start one day to everyone's pleasant surprise

soon as war breaks out I will jump in on behalf of ....

If people are advocating the US wipe out the DPRK and/or its leadership, then in the interests of parity (and also to highlight the inherent folly of such a suggestion) it's only fair to advocate the DPRK wipe out the US and/or its leadership.

Horrible stuff, yes?

Back to the real world and I hope Yun is correct and we are not close to any military action. The hawks in Washington must be scrutinised, their every utterance and so-callled justifications.

I'm glad he sees the need for dialogue. But the DPRK govt have whipped up a paranoid frenzy over the many decades (much like the US) and it will be difficult to halt nuclear development now. They are (much like the US) only trying to protect themselves.

Personally, I'd rather both countries get rid of any and all nukes and scale down the belligerent rhetoric.

It's the people that matter, the good people of America and the good people of North Korea. I'd wager that the majority in each country just want to survive, live life, love their families and have food on the table. Sadly, it's the foul politicians and so-called leaders who want to screw it up for everyone.

What's the solution, then?

Continued NK nuclear and missile threats until UN, SK agrees to withdraw U.S. forces and agrees to a Unification under DPRK regime? Kim will not accept anything less than unification under DPRK.

Maybe you all think the DPRK is a better system and NK better place to live.  IF so, why aren't you living there? Why are people trying to get out of NK? Why is SK opposed to unification under DPRK?

IF unification of the two Koreas under a more democratic and humane government is to happen, then Kim and DPRK needs to be removed. The only way to remove him and DPRK is through a military action.
