Yellen, sitting across from a table from Suzuki, offered her condolences, saying Abe had left a legacy of “revitalizing Japan’s economy and leadership position.”

….

Actually, no Abe didn’t.

Japanese GDP actually plummeted after Abe became Prime Minister.

However, if they say it enough then it becomes true, right?

Europe's problem. They should deal with it.

In their statement, Japan and the U.S. expressed support for a new World Bank fund to help finance pandemic prevention and urged other creditor nations, such as China, to help countries like crisis stricken Sri Lanka deal with their debt problems.

…..

The debt problems in Sri Lanka?

How about the greedy government taking tax money from the population and blowing it on themselves?

Throwing money at corrupt politicians won’t solve anything, will it?

Always had to be a joint effort. Japan can't do anything by itself.

In their statement, Japan and the U.S. expressed support for a new World Bank fund to help finance pandemic prevention and urged other creditor nations, such as China, to help countries like crisis stricken Sri Lanka deal with their debt problems.

Screaming hypocrisy. 81% of Sri Lanka's foreign debt is owned by Western financial institutions, as well as Japan and India. Only 10% is owned by China.

The top holders of the debt in the form of international sovereign bonds (ISBs) are:

BlackRock (US)

Ashmore Group (Britain)

Allianz (Germany)

UBS (Switzerland)

HSBC (Britain)

JPMorgan Chase (US)

Prudential (US)

The World Bank and the IMF are two major props of American control of the global financial system.

To follow up on Alfie Noakes listing of some of the prime suspects, many in Sri Lanka were aware of the predatory IMF strategies.

It is an old playbook, and is yet being used as G7 oligarchs jockey for primacy against Russian/Chinese ones.

It is an old playbook, and is yet being used as G7 oligarchs jockey for primacy against Russian/Chinese ones.

How dare you misuse that word 'oligarchs'! Didn't you get the Reuters/AP/Kyodo style guide? Only Russians can be oligarchs. Non-Russian billionaires are 'maverick investors' or 'philanthropists'.

If Japan and the US won't help them they will STARVE this winter.

japan imports 70% of its food, and cut off its supply of oil and gas from Russia. USA doesn’t have enough fuel for its own people and people can’t afford food.

who exactly is the Calvary? Only Russia and China can save Europe.

The picture image is deceiving as the Japanese side has no choice but to follow the US lead.

she stressed the importance of effective sanctions

Yes so important that less than 25% of the countries are onboard, and less than 10% of the world's population!

So we are to believe that "the world is united" as we are regularly told but fewer than 40 countries are imposing sanctions with a combined population under 800 million.

We are also told to ignore all the other 155+ countries as only the 30 someodd Western democrasies count.

Because apparently the other 155+ countries are not Democracies according to most here that support sanctions,

India, mexico, Brazil , Indonesia, Malaysia, every country in Africa and South and Central America, all not Democracies, or at least that is the narrative we are to believe.

Only a blessed few 800 million people on the planet live in a "real" democracy if we are to believe the western governments and news.

Europe is in trouble as usual.

> If Japan and the US won't help them they will STARVE this winter.

> They will probably freeze as Russia will close the gas to Europe.

> I'm happy to hear Japan and US doing something to help them.

No!

Europe is in another vendetta war like WW1 WW2 and just about every war before.

But things have changed!

Apart from the 4 former colonies of USA, Canada, Australia, NZ that cannot seem to cut their umbilical cords to the continent.

The rest of the world especially their former colonial ruled countries (read non white) want nothing to do anymore with their wars.

As one north African leaders put it.

" Europe dragged us into 2 of their vendetta war"

" They can no longer force us into another "

" They need to fix their own problems ".

Many other former colonial ruled countries are saying the same thing!

Only Russians can be Oligarchs
