Why do US have to get involved in the affairs of other countries???..
Solve your own LGBT issues first before conservatives also take away those rights to your own LGBT community..
What a pathetic interventionist circus..

US now have LBGTQ evangelist abroad? Instead fixing back in home

Weaponising these social issues to advance US foreign policy interests has been one of the most successful strategies ever deployed by the US State Department. Twenty years ago during the Iraq war they had a serious problem where nearly every young person on the left was staunchly anti-war. Today, this same demographic are the ones calling for total war against the enemies of liberalism, democracy, and transgender rights. This is why US embassies cynically fly rainbow and BLM flags.

'Romanization' is what Rome insisted on of its vassals and 'Americanization' is what America insists on for it's vassals. Empire has no imagination and repeats itself wherever it infests itself. Perhaps forcing a culture to reshape itself into a mirror of the dominating culture makes it easier to control...
Regarding Joseon and its reluctance to engage the U.S. now in view of its apparent enthusiasm before the trump debacle (THEY made the initial overture to trump) is simply a matter of "Fool me once (but over and over)". trump's own embrace of the first meeting was as a distraction from the just emerging Stormy Daniels accusations in the media at the time and when he no longer needed the distraction seeing that his adherents could completely ignore stunningly unethical behavior, he cut Kim, who had traveled two days by train for the last meeting, off at the knees and walked out of the meeting in minutes. And the Japanese people are bombarded with the 'threat' of the smallest and poorest country in Asia facing three of the most heavily armed and hostile militaries of the world constantly and actively practicing its destruction, the elephant preaching FEAR of the mouse and the disappointment of the large number of unthinking Humans who believe it.

Perhaps the USA should fix it's own problems.
Look up Dearborn Michigan school board protest!
In both the USA and Canada they are facing stiff challenges and recall campaigns towards school boards regarding LGBTQ agendas in public schools.
We have a war in Europe, several in Africa and the middle East but Biden has put LGBTQ rights as a priority?
50% of the world population are women real women and in much of the world they have few rights if any but let's concentrate on a tiny LGBTQ minority because it gets use browny points.

Foe once I agree with you.

Not just politicians...there was an American teacher who was crowing about how he had been able to create classes for Japanese junior high and elementary students which 'enlightened' them about LGBT rights, and how they were coming around to what he was preaching.

This is good. Gay Japanese should also have a right for a legal marriage. Bravo!

I am not against LGBT, but what has that got to do with the US, especially when you see all the issues they have yet to solve.
travelbangaijin
I was shocked LGBT was not taught in Japanese primary schools to children like in America. I'm glad the US Secretary of State is going to bring this to Japan's attention.

Why so that Japan can become as " progressive" as the USA like in the story below:
https://www.dailywire.com/news/oregon-bar-to-have-child-drag-queen-perform-this-weekend
One thing interesting
It forgot to mention that one of this child's 2 "Drag mothers" (AKA handlers) was just arrested for child pornography and sexual crimes with children.
The L and G need to distance themselves from the rest.
Previously the L&G said they were born that way ( I agree) but that premise is being challenged, not by the right or concervative religious but by the LGBTQ that now claim gender and orientation are fluid and can change.
So under that premise "conversion therapy" should be viable, which the L & G are vehemently opposed to for good reason.

President Joe Biden's administration has promised to prioritize LGBTQ rights on the global stage and Japan is seen a country where U.S. encouragement could make an impact.
A man and woman getting married is not a fundamental right in the US.
Japan has its own laws. No encouragement needed here, except to have more men and women marry and get the birth rates up too.

Japan is so weird about LGBTQ+ stuff
there is no reason to not just accept couples on paperwork. No religion hangups, it’s cost effective, increases happiness and wellness profile of the country, various social benefits in the health care system like hospital visits, and more.
and japan has a well documented history of openly gay brothels and icons in the samurai/daimyo class like Oda Nobunaga and more… that the LDP somehow forgets
the government won’t allow it seemingly cause the western countries maybe think it makes them look weak? Kinda like how they adopted a bunch of censorship from Europe when they industrialized

If it ended there then fine, but look at North America, it didn't, instead we now have to deal with gender fluidity, unisex changing rooms in schools or young girls having to share and change infront of what is essentially a man and see male genitals even if they don't want to.
We end up like Canada where they are forcing Drag queen reading day on kindergarten students and any parent refusing to send their child is reported to child services.
It is gone far beyond equality those rights were given a long time ago, it is now "we need to say a and do what we want or else".
Sadly giving anything results in more demands.
It was Gay and lesbian now it is non-binary and furies.

Lots of men, that worry about gay people relationship, probably did not do a good job in their own fail relationship, instead of concentration on gay people, maybe they reflect why their own relationship failures

North Korea and LGBTQ rights… two issues that will fall on deaf ears. And to all the ignorant naysayers, yeah the US has its issues, but at least LGBTQ couples can legally marry in all states unlike Japan. And why does the US get involved in their ally’s domestic affairs? Because it’s US soft power and they do it because they can. Don’t like it? Go live in any country that is not a US ally and then start complaining.

Or maybe discuss LGBTQ rights in N Korea...?

SAG,s rights. Are they different from everyday citizens rights ????. SAGs should build a bridge and get over their self importance. Only the the Elete are afforded special rights.

She should be in Singapore, who is going to toughen laws to ban gay marriage.

But of all my male friends nearly all gay and straight and I will add in my lesbian acquaintances have problems with the BTQ+++++etc..
I have never seen or heard of a Gay guy going into an all female aesthetics salon and spa and demand the all female staff do genital hair removal or that they be let in to a no clothing women's only spa.
I have never seen or heard a lesbian do the same in a male only spa or genital hair removal place and demand service.
But we are regularly treated to human rights complaints in Canada and the USA by Transgender demanding that they be treated like born females and despite still having male genitalia demand to be treated like women even trying to force the women working in these places to touch their genitals to remove hair, etc...
I don't see Gay guy readying day in kindergarten or lesbian girl ready day. Nope only trans day.
Most lesbians and Gay will pass by you and I on the street and no one noticed or cares
"Sir madam may I help you?" Will not get you in trouble with gays or lesbians.
But use sir or madam on a "they them" or a transgender you are not sure about and watch the fireworks.
You can actually get in legal trouble in some countries for using the wrong pronoun.
Gays and lesbians know what they are and The simple fact all those I know use heterosexual and homosexual and not CIS and non binary. Is because they understand 2 genders and any fluidity theory makes the "we were born Gay/Lesbian" null and void.
The LGBTQ++++++++'s days are numbered as the Gay and especially the lesbian community are losing patience and interest and are ready to breakaway.

Amazing. America has produced such a perfect society there they now believe they have the right to tell other people in other countries what to do . I have two words to say to this female. One begins with f . The other ends in f .

Butt out, lady.

Some of the posters here are hilarious. Most biological women, unless they’re super religious, don’t have a problem with trans woman and I’ve never heard of a pre op trans girl going in for a bikini wax. It’s only closeted men who seem to have issues with them. Like the guys who goes to Thailand or the Philippines, gets all the way to second base before even realizing and are drunk so go all the way and then start to question their own sexuality the next morning and project their own self hatred to any and all trans people. Go anywhere in south east Asia. Half of the beautiful girls are trans anyway.

I miss the days when US' interests were just cheap oil.

@Gaijinland,
Agreed, the posters here are an endless source of amusement. The guy posting The Daily Wire to “support” his views anti-LGBT views.....Truly embarrassing...

When is the USA going to denuclearize?
When?

So far Biden's promises don't mean diddly squat !
I agree with most comments that the USA is sticking it's nose where it doesn't belong when trying to lecture Japan on it's LGBTQ laws.
However one thing i would like to see is Japanese laws regarding women to be more respectful of females and uphold equal opportunity for females.
I am referring to 'real females' ie one that are born female !
Although gender identity crisis individuals may not be true females their actually helping real Japanese women in Japan gain respect.
And please don't get all offended if you weren't actually born a true female .
Japan isn't an international community like the USA is, so i doubt the USA diplomatic discussion of LGBTQ will in reality produce any changes in Japan anyway !
Garthgoyle
Ha! Lol! Because they're both equally important matters.

So the USA military can have nuclear weaponry but south Korea can't.
Are they attempting to portray that the USA military doesn't have nuclear weapons in South Korea ?
