Going to take everyone working together to contain the China menace.

What USA commands, Japan leap dog will execute without any questions or comments.

Maybe Japan should see its own way, especially now with the hyperinflation and the crash of their curency.

As long as China harbours delusions of grandeur, and ambitions of ruling the world from Beijing, the world has no other option but to restrict its abiliry to gain control.

A necessary move by the US and its allies. China continues to threaten everyone that does not go along with it.

This is just another round of sanctions in all but name and countries are sick of it.

Precisely this is driving the change in trade flows, growth of BRICS, dedollarisation and will inevitably accelerate the self-imposed undermining of Atlanticist hegemony in the long run.

US/G7 etc love to lecture others about free trade on the condition it overwhelmingly benefits them; then they invent a new, loaded phrase like "overcapacity" when there emerges a fair competitor. These hypocrites spent the last few decades waxing lyrical about free markets etc like it was Gospel.

Just like China has come out on top with electric cars, they eventually dominate with chips. Watch.

It's only a a matter of time before China resurge and become a super power if not already.

It is happening now, all what someone need to do is visit China and find out for himself or herself.

Yes China may not fit or meet the perfect needs of a full democracy but so are many other nation who claim to be one.

We can keep on burying our heads in the sand and refuse to face reality but the fact of the matter is that China is and will be just as competitive as any industrialized nation if not even better in some areas.

Instead of trying to contain China how about finding ways to live along side each other in PEACE and Harmony and do all we can to avoid a conflict with each other.

Pres. Reagan once said Peace through Strength, and we can all agree on that and our strength also comes from Respecting one another and working together towards common goals that will benefit our people as well as others.

-12 ( +10 / -22 )

In the end, it's not going to make a blind bit of difference. They'll figure out a way to do it and it'll be much better, cheaper and more efficient. Do NOT underestimate China.

Yes China may not fit or meet the perfect needs of a full democracy

It isn't a democracy in any way shape or form, let alone a "perfect" or "full" one. (Even low-level, local officials who are "elected" must adhere to Xi Jinping Thought and cannot oppose the CCP.)

The closest analog to its system is an absolute monarchy: one unelected man making all the decisions, with zero oversight, legal responsibility, or accountability.

Instead of trying to contain China how about finding ways to live along side each other in PEACE and Harmony and do all we can to avoid a conflict with each other.

Sadly, this is impossible with the CCP at the helm. It simply wants to steal things and oppress people, both internally and externally, to maintain and increase its power.

We can all get along with China once the CCP falls, and the Chinese people have a government that actually represents them, rather than brutally oppresses them and attacks its neighbors.

It is happening now, all what someone need to do is visit China and find out for himself or herself.

Just mind the arbitrary imprisonment, and the exit bans when you try to get out.

I'm sure the Philippines and several other countries will disagree with what you have written!!

Peace and Harmony is not in China's interest when it comes to territory or technology. You are keeping up with the latest news, aren't you?

and countries are sick of it.

Evidently not, since sanctions continue to be used regularly against dangerous, authoritarian regimes like China and Russia.

Just like China has come out on top with electric cars

It hasn't. There are trade barriers being put up all over the world to combat China's product dumping, WTO rule-breaking subsidies, forced labor, and environmental degradation.

See also solar panels, wind turbines, and many, many more things.

If America really wants to contain China in semiconductors, the loopholes are still too big.

The US, Japan, the Netherlands, and Taiwan are the Western semiconductor leaders, but even the US has not been able to restrict Nvidia's semiconductor exports.

The situation is probably similar in the Netherlands and Taiwan.

Biden's policies won't have much effect. If they could, Trump might be the only one.

Japan doesn't have Harper inflation or an extremely weak currency. If Japan does, then what is it about Zimbabwe's economy that exceeds hyper?

There is nothing more foolish than thinking you can negotiate with China.

It might be possible if you had overwhelming military and economic power against China, but in America today, both are half-hearted. They only follow the strong. Just like Koreans, it's all about the strong, the weak, the weak, the strong lol

Maybe if your country behaved in a civilized manner it would have friends.

China just needs to produce missiles. No U.S. carrier will approach the coast of China.

They'll figure out a way to do it and it'll be much better, cheaper and more efficient.

This is exactly what Karl Marx predicted over a century ago. Socialism (in this case, a Marxist-Leninist authoritarian state) would take over from capitalism's achievements and then improve upon it.

"The East is Red!"

The West is not going to stop China in the South China Seas unless it’s stronger than China. It’s not. Look how many of them need to band together and they still worry.

Look at the Greek islands right off the coast of Turkey in the Aegean Sea. Every single one belongs to Greece. It’s what strong nations do, c look aim territory. How do you think the US became a continental nation?

The South China Seas belongs to China simply because China says it belongs to China. It’s the way the world works.

China is who China is. Those who agree can kow tow or get on their knees with their foreheads on the ground.

Didn’t the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese just say on Monday that Australia adheres to the one-China policy and does not support "Taiwan independence."?

Albanese sets a good example: take care of your people and their livelihoods first.

It's not product dumping. It's producing all the things they said were going to save us from global warming at high quality, efficiently and cheaply. Something the west refused to do, or did so inefficiently or at very high cost or just not at all. Now we can have all of these cheaply, they don't want them since it doesn't fit their political narrative. Instead they focus on preparing us for WW3.

High quality? Apparently you haven’t bought much off Temu or AliExpress? Some of it is good… certainly not most of it.

Pro-CCP poster says China will win. Film at 11.

That's the go-to rebuttal. Anytime someone says something you don't like, it must be a CCP-lover, Putin-lover, etc. Not interested in those theatrics and hysterical fearmongering.

USA barred China from cooperation in the space industry. The result? China built its own space station while the ISS is running out of time. China got moon samples a few years back. The result? American scientists had to ask US government for permission to ask for those samples. China, being the bigger person they are, gave them the samples. No doubt when Chang'e 6 returns to earth from the far side of the moon in a few days times. USA will go begging again.

USA barred Huawei? The result? They came out with a satellite phone right when Gina Raimondo visited China on another begging tour. They tried to arrest Ms Meng and got Canada to do their dirty work. The result? She was let go with no proof of wrong-doing while two Canadians were arrested for spying. How do we know at least one of them was guilty? One of them unwittingly gave the other confidential information. When they got back to Canada he sued the other guy and the Canadian government and won a $7M settlement.

Anything else USA wants to do to China? Bring it on.

I think China’s chipmaking technique would be a threat. Japan should carefully monitor trends.

Good to know we can dispense with any sort of notions about China being a law abiding or moral country. That is what this is about: circling the ships to contain the menace.

The arrest of the two Canadians were thought to be random and retaliatory. China takes the high road and Huawei is stronger than before.

I don’t know how it is in China, but in Ukraine your team calls literally the same thing freedom and democracy... Since the beginning of the SVO, hundreds of dissident Ukrainians have been imprisoned without trial. They disappeared as if they had never existed. Men cannot leave the country because Ukraine needs them to die. Just the other day there was news: the Kiev Symphony Orchestra, 73 people, having gone on tour, all together asked for asylum in Germany. They had no other way to get out of the country of Ukraine. But you're talking about China...

XiXIPee is a menace, but it was the US' ideas in the early 80s to make China rich. The US is great at many things, making its enemies rich is one of them.

Even the Houthi armed forces' outdated missiles were able to penetrate the deck of the USS Eisenhower, causing the American aircraft carrier to flee in panic. The PLA's advanced missiles have the ability to completely sink American aircraft carriers.

High quality? Apparently you haven’t bought much off Temu or AliExpress.

Absolutely rifgtm, most of it is junk. However when it comes to green technologies, China is far, far ahead. 50% of cars that are sold in China are electric and they are on track to phase out ICE cars conpletely by 2025 and now is the world's biggest car exporter too. BYD has overtaken Tesla as the biggest electric car marker and is way better quality now. Meanwhile, the west are backtracking on phasing our ICEs. There was no way they'd meet those targets without China.

Top German car engineers and even Musk has also admitted it's game over. And think it was the west that began mandating green technologies be shoved down our throats. Then when China obliged they are snubbed.

All tarrifs will lead to is a system where western companies will stay inefficient and lethargic and move further behins. See high speed rail for example.

And watch China retaliate with their own trade barriers and they'll just sell their technology to the ever expanding BRICs, which countries are clamouring to join.

Fake news being perpetuated by CCP stooges:

“False claims of a missile attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels against an American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea over the weekend were followed by a flood of doctored images and bogus videos online, which were amplified by pro-Chinese and pro-Russian social media accounts. “

1) The Eisenhower is still there fighting.

2) I guess it is good the US also has thousands of anti-ship missiles and the ability to deliver them. A stalemate will not win Taiwan for the criminal chinese party.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Again the dirty strategies of good old US to try to stop the unstoppable growth of China.

West can continue wasting time, at this moment China is improving its own technology to build its own semiconductors with much more capacity and without depending on any country, China's plan is to have the capacity to create all its technology with its own resources..

Nothing can stop China..

Get used to it..
