Fat boy, number eleven and poo tin seem determined to stir the pot, causing international tension. About time we all disconnected our supply chains from them, which basically means China as the other two don’t actually produce anything save misery and propaganda.

How utterly pathetic it all is.

There aren’t any winners in a nuclear conflict.

The US already intensely bombed Korea in the past and the North Koreans live their history right now in the present whereas those of us in the west have a tendency to forget.

The insane drain on resources that North Korea places into weaponry is a massive detriment to its people.

However, would the US bomb North Korea in the present if it could do so without retaliation?

Looking at US aggression in various parts of the world, it surely does seem to be the case

North Korean leader Kim Jong is a world peace heritage himself.

Stop to defame mr Kim Jong and swallow your own propaganda.

North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui traveled to Moscow, where she met Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin for talks

I just saw a photo, taken by a pool photographer - from their state-owned-squirrel-cage they laughingly call a ‘newspaper’ - of this most auspicious event.

Wow!

Either two days of Russian war food has made Choe Son Hui grow a couple of ticks (I’ve always wanted to describe some part of Russian foreign policy, while using the word, ‘tick,’ in the same sentence), or the stunt-doubles they now have filling in for Vlad are not quite as tall as the original mannequin.

War drills mimicking an invasion or attack play into Kim,s hands and the narrative he uses to frighten his country men .

Ho about some lateral thinking ?

Do the drills away from SK waters , ignore Kim's provocations', sanction and boycott all aspects of trade etc.

US military neo cons. can contact me for further advice...pro bono

That is a good sign of love between Japan and South Korea for the people of Ukraine. Strange and unnatural though that Kim Jong Un of North Korea has no love for the people of South Korea who share the same flesh and blood with him and, their North Korean brothers and sisters. The same may be said of Vladymir Putin who has no love for his Ukrainian brothers and sisters. No wonder Kim visited Putin ten days ago and offered to help him kill his brother and sister Ukrainians with North Korean weapons.

This will be seen as a threat, which it obviously is, by the North. They will respond by "testing" some missiles. Which will be seen as a threat, which it is, by Japan and South Korea.... And the game will continue..

If WW3 kicks off for real, we all know it'll be because of events right in our own backyard. As much as no one wants a war, now is not the time to show any form of half-heartedness nor weakness. It's a time for unflinching strength, partnerships, and resolve. The seeds of disarray and chaos sown around the world must not be allowed to grow, despite the noise. Hold a firm free world.

Suppose this was the combined forces of Chinese, Russian and North Korean navies. How would the South Koreans, Japanese and Americans feel about it? One must see things not only from one's own perspectives but also from the other's perspectives.

At any rate, who started this chicken-and-egg race of arms buildup?

North Korea when it went nuclear.

What happened to their Chinese and Russian allies?

@Taiwanisnotchina

Surely, as the US went nuclear first, they started it, North Korea is just catching up. Or do you believe that the US is the only nation that should possess nuclear weapons?

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Note to poster above.

1/Iraq didn't have nuclear weapons or ANY weapons of mass destruction. That as one of the greatest lies ever told.

2/NK HAS nuclear weapons and SK's most popular city is just across the border. Are you happy with a million South Koreans dead ?

3/US intervention in Iraq saw the rise of ISIS . Great work. And now the country is a failed state with religious groups fighting each other. But, heck, US interests now control the oil.

4/ Chinese ""commies " are equipped enough to deal with the USA.

Uh oh, don't upset Xi the Pooh's toothless lap dog. He might bark himself into laryngitis.

Second only to "there will be no invasion", circa 2022.

Yes, yes, US is the sole reason behind islamic fundamentalism. Keep running with that line. And the US does not sell the oil. The kurds do.

4/ Chinese ""commies " are equipped enough to deal with the USA.

Clearly not enough to step out of their cage.

Saying nuclear proliferation should have stopped at nobody is a polyannish statement to make.

There was no ""Islamic Fundamentalism " in Iraq under Saddam...a well known secularist.

And the US put all the major military people in Iraq in the SAME jail !

Brilliant work.

Thats the embryonic ISIS forming.

BTW America has enough "religious fundamentalists " to sink a ship.

This underpins the eternal support of Israel

repeated a threat that the North would annihilate the South with its nukes if provoked.

About the only thing Trump ever got right was to respond to threats like this, saying the US would basically eradicate NK with fire if it tried anything.

Biden must use the language Kim understands, and threaten to make all of NK a steaming pile of irradiated countryside if it ever uses a nuke on the US or any US ally. He needs to make it a law in the US so Kim understands it is no bluff. Then Kim will send Biden a "very lovely letter" showing his respect for Biden's leadership.

History shows Kim is scared of and responds to threats of his death through nuclear fire.

Trump still is unworthy of the next US presidency, and belongs behind bars. Even fools trip over a good thing every now and again. He had his shot and failed badly.

Tensions in East Asia are all about China's push to increase its military power, and North Korea is just an added bonus.

Tensions would never have escalated like this if China had taken a cooperative approach instead of trying to oppose the United States.

North Korea is just a terrorist group, and the Korean peninsula would have been unified by South Korea if China and Russia hadn't supported it.

As long as China and Russia continue to support the dictatorial regime that oppresses the North Korean people, peace will never come to the Korean Peninsula.

U.S., S Korea and Japan conduct naval drills as tensions deepen with N Korea

The title should read:

U.S., S Korea and Japan conduct naval drills to create instability in the region!

The US did the same in the Middle East to make it a war torn region and this enabled formation of terrorist groups ( many were in fact funded by the CIA )! Japan is doomed either way just for being the puppets of The USA! The USA blames China, Russia and North Korea for everything but these are the countries that will sit back, enjoy and laugh after the Presidential elections in the US later this year when the Trump mob will begin a civil war and democracy will fall!

Not according to any honest reading.

Still Putin's War and still a US century.

GuruMick take your low resolution great Satan narrative , where the U.S is the root of all evil, and go and move to a North Korea, China, Russia, Iran, Palestine or wherever else you and your comrades think you would be happier. See how that works out for ya. Used to be you in my 20s too, embarrassing as that is to admit so I know the type only too well. An entitled abomination.

If Lil Kim farts its over!! That 4th world technology he is fooling himself and his armies does not work!!! The Russians are complaining about the artillery NK sent to be used against Ukraine is not working. More duds, and when one does explode they take a swig of Russian vodka to celebrate that the shell at least exploded!!

Again good old US creating caos and conflicts to feed its decadent pirate hegemony..

You mean after the North invaded the South?

Watch carefully and you'll notice the western media always says "as tensions deepen" when western militaries do something but then say "so tensions deepen" when the other side does something.

Surely it couldn’t be North Korea launching missiles in the direction of Japan that’s bad, right? Oh wait I forgot the majority of the posters on this sites only lens with which they view foreign politics through is “AMERICA BAD”

Or do you believe that the US is the only nation that should possess nuclear weapons?

Unironically yes. History has proven time and time again that the rest of the world is too stupid to govern itself and will inevitably break down into war. The only thing that’s maintained the unprecedented global peace we’ve seen for the past 80 years has been America forcing the rest of these idiotic countries to play nicely together

Lmao. Any other “facts” from your fantasy world you’d like to share?

now is the best timing to solve this cancer once and for all. in modern warfare, under the E3 awacs, F35 F22 and F16, nk cant even have a chance to fire a single missile before all of its silo be destroyed. and most importantly, US can easily take down NK like what it did in Iraq, the civilians will help the Alliance to smash down the kim's regime. People in NK are starving to death and they are looking for a chance to rebel. Fear nothing about NK. After NK is down, next target will be china commies.

Now for some sober thoughts. I don't think you understand just how much damage DPRK forces could do in a few hours with their artillery systems dug in above the DMZ. Fully half the South Korean population lives within artillery range of North Korean forces. Think about that. DPRK has tens of thousands of artillery rocket launchers and guns dug into the mountains north of the DMZ. They could saturate Seoul and Inchon with heavy sustained artillery fire and it would take time for Allied air power to degrade that capability. Thousands of rockets and missiles coming over the DMZ at once plus howitzer fire. Allied estimates of deaths in the first day of a resumption of the Korean War are on the order of 100,000 dead per hour. Per hour ! Assuming the PLA does not intervene yes South Korea and her allies would prevail, but at a staggering cost in civilian lives lost. If the PLA did intervene then all bets about victory are off. It would likely be a repeat of 1953. This is why the ROK and US are so reluctant to retaliate against DPRK. Any victory would look pretty hollow with millions of South Koreans dead.

Who's creating the 'tension', the RS of the USA, that's who.
