A lot larger amount of your tax this year will also be used on things you don't personally use or need either.

Personally, I don't know why it's deemed that Abe requires a 'state' memorial either, but people in power have decided as such and asking rhetorical questions on a website mostly read by foreigners isn't going to stop it.

@bass4funk : You also, know that once it's deemed 'state', as a friendly country the VP will attend. Pretty sure Pence would have come to represent Trump if he had still been in power.

Just because you don't like her doesn't mean it's inappropriate for her to come.

National funeral that costs 700 million yen, who is paying for that, from the politicians pockets or our taxes?

Actually the cost was supposed to be ¥ 800 million 50/50 LDP and tax payers.

Now it is ¥1.6 billion twice the price with the LDP supposed to pay half what a coincidence ¥800 million the original cost!

Will Trump come? They supposedly were dear friends but I suspect Trump, being the type of person he is, won’t be bothered to make the trip.
