As with anything, the older they get the more problems arise. These aircraft are over 30 years old now so its no surprise that things are starting t go wrong. Although its embarrassing for Japan Airlines who should have maintained the aircraft better!

Abe did not board the 747 that lost the panel.

An access panel near the engine pylon fell off; Could have been worse.

Did the panel land on populated area? Was property damaged or anybody injured?

How come no protests? Is the ASDF going to apologize for the mishap?

Now if this was a U.S. military aircraft........

Where's the outrage from the handout crew in Okinawa? They've balked on and on about how it's about safety, so I'd like to hear some of them come on and say how all planes should be banned because of this, if they are truly concerned.
