Do you refer to the X social media platform by its current name, or do you still call it Twitter?

I do not use the platform I never did and prefer to use other forms of Social Media for business. In my opinion I never liked the name twitter and found the name kind of annoying and I like the new name X far better however really doesn't give any meaning to what the site actually does.

How about Ex-Twitter?

I refer to it as Twitter, but I don't use it.

I do not use this platform and do not care

I prefer Twitter - hugely recognisable and successful brand - the name was relevant to the the function of the platform and a cute logo to go with it. X has no meaning - it is a label that relies entirely on the success of the Twitter label to gain any kind of traction or recognition. Without wanting to pass judgement on Musk as a person or on his overall running of Twitter (X), I just can't understand the logic behind this re-branding - for me it was a dumb and rather arrogant move. But then again, I'm not the richest bloke on the planet, so what do I know.

Sooner or later, whether anyone lile or not, we'll eventually use the x name... so what ?

Hell change the name back to twitter to get more news time.

To me "X" suggests porn. Maybe Musk has a fetish?

I don't use it and I don't care..

I used to use Twitter, but after Space Karen borked it, I moved to Mastodon. The name change was just dumb. Before you could say tweet, now it's eXcrement.

I don't refer to it either way. It never crosses my mind. Better and more important things to think about.

I completely ignore that nonsense.

'X' is such a generic name and it does suggest porn. And that HQ building with the humongous 'X' on top of it is just plain hideous. A cyberpunk nightmare.

Oh Muskrat has fetishes alright, for power + money + influence. He is greedy. Like Rupert Murdoch and Diaper Don.

I don't use it and I don't care..

Me either. And since Muskrat restored the acct. to Trashtrump, people have been leaving the platform in droves.

One problem with the name "X" is that its too generic and doesn't perform a very good signalling function to listeners or readers. When someone says "Twitter" everyone knows what they are referring to. When someone says "X" people aren't going to immediately connect it with the social media platform unless its obvious from the context.

"TwitterX" is the best name I have run across. Thank you Alex Christoforou,

I like the x logo. it looks manly and mature. Twitter logo looks like a logo used in kindergarten.

Twitter was a strong brand and was easily identifiable. It's a word well understood in every day conversation. People understood tweets, retweets and trending topics because of Twitter.

X on the other hand is... meaningless and easily lost because it can't stand on it's own.

Twitter for ever!!!!...

"X" name is a pathetic farce..

It won't last...

Which accurately reflects the users on the platform...

Every time I see X, a quick note follows, such as: 'formerly called Twitter'.

This has continued for months now, showing that most people still don't click, and the old name Twitter is still needed to trigger the light of understanding.

The whole point of "X" is that it is used as a marker instead of proper denomination, as in "Brand X" or "Product X", using it as the actual name for a service amounts to making an effort to reduce the impact it has.

X is the last major free speech platform in America. Even Japan times is a satellite of the New York Times and is deeply rooted in the American approved propaganda machine. Try it, read the NYT one morning, and then read the JT. It's the same language, same stories, same everything when it comes to USA news. X is actual free speech. You can say whatever you want, no matter who you are offending. Try that on FB, IG, Reddit or the NYT comment board. The comment will never make it to daylight, that's censorship and America is on its way CCP levels of it.
