Sure, war with Russia is way less likely now for starters.

The last time a GOP headbanger got in everything went pear-shaped.

It's a toss-up between Bush and Trump as to who is the most ignorant about foreign affairs. Remember Trump burbling about Ukraine? Then again, I'm sure Vlad will educate him with sweet nothings and a cuddle.

Yeah and in 1979 the peanut farmer was inept and couldn't get our people out of Iran for 444 days until Reagan was sworn in and by the way, if you want to talk about being ignorant when it comes to foreign affairs Somalia and Bosnia comes to mind, underestimating Putin taking Crimea and what was that with that stupid reset button, ISIS and Assad is still in power after the anointed one threatened him with his red line warning, underestimating China and especially North Korea, that stupid Iran deal, thinking he can be best buddy with Castro. Even Castro didn't like Obama putting his hand on his shoulder. this president not only is ignorant to foreign affairs, he's ignorant to the point that he doesn't even realize that they all have been playing him like a harp.

America has never been in greater danger of being attacked by New Zealand than right now.....

Part of the reason the world is so unsafe today has to do with Hillary.

In 1993 I was in the Army, during operation UNOSOM. Many of you might have seen the movie "Blackhawk Down," which took place during this operation. After the battle of Mogadishu, Bill Clinton recalled US forces from Somalia, much to the disappointment of the forces themselves (who saw the battle as landslide victory). But the one most opposed to the pullout was Hillary herself. The argument she had with her husband after he gave the order to pull out was loud enough that Secret Service joked that they might have to shoot her to protect the president. Neither the Secret Service, nor the Whitehouse Honor Guard (in which some of my friends worked) had any love for Hillary.

Hillary has always been one of the loudest hawks in Washington. Many people forget that all of the information which GWB got on Iraq came from the Clinton administration, and that the CIA director (who said that WMD was a slam dunk) was appointed by Bill Clinton. Hillary spoke on the senate floor arguing to give Bush the authority to attack Iraq, and as she had been in the Whitehouse for 8 years prior to becoming a senator, her arguments were persuasive.

I don't know if the world will be safer with Trump as president, but I know that it is more dangerous because of Bill and Hillary.

There is absolutely no way anyone can seriously answer "yes" to this question.

Yes. Of course, yes. Seriously.

Hillary is unquestionably a war monger. She actually giggled at Gaddafi's grisly death. That should be enough to scare anyone. She was aiming for a very possible nuclear war with Russia. That has been diffused for the time being. And of course, her policies meant more leeway for ISIS.

What Trump will do remains to be seen. Maybe he will be better. Maybe not. But there was no doubt about Clinton's path. We dodged a bullet, for now.

The world will continue to be dangerous for some time, as globalization results in a struggle over a new pecking order. We can only hope for a relatively peaceful transition. At least we don't have "we came, we saw, he died....gyahahahaha!" Hillary with her finger on the button.

Mystic Meg has forecast that the world will be safer , there will be no more gnashing of teeth , the hungry will be fed, a cure for cancer will be found and Isis will convert to christianity and build churches giving the unemployable a job.

Bills cannot originate from the President.

President Elect Trump is exactly what America and Japan need right now in this time of history. The real enemy is radical Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorism. President Obama and Killary Clinton can't even say the words but they are guilty of creating these terrorists and are actually even more dangerous as they want to keep going after enemies that they created by selling heavy arms and weaponry to years before but now want to cover it up. So they are the war mongers not Trump! They became good friends with Qatar and Saudi Arabia and got stabbed in the back just before the election because of it! :) Oh well, too bad. But one thing is for sure and there will never, ever be another black president in the US ever again and there will never be a female president in the US within the foreseeable future. Like everything else that she has ever done, Killary trashed that prospect quite well indeed. Oh well.

With republican majority receiving funds from dirty fuel industry, exxon, koch brothers and the likes have just been handed the key to do whatever the hell they want. Trump just appointed a climate change denier as his EPA chief, if we don't die of war, then we'll surely die of hunger.

@MsDelicious

I think he will do a better job than Hillary could ever have pondered. Her goal was supreme power to fatten her wallet.

And you think he's any different in that respect?

I am SO glad I'm NOT American...

He will do fine. His acting ability to get in office as a TV personality has surpassed Ronald Reagan.

I wish him luck and know he will do well.

Didn't anyone notice that he did not snort during his wonderful acceptance speech?

Hmmm....wonder if the same question would have been asked had Hillary won the election. It just seems so....never mind...

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Now the question is: What makes people think Trump will be any better than that?

I don't think they care. They just wanted to send a big f* y to the establishment.

It's been sent. Now we get to see what happens.

The good thing about the fact that Trump never really told us exactly what he's going to do is that it means he's not encumbered by expectations, and that the possibility exists he may actually do some good stuff.

At least, we can hope.

Hillary is a total neocon, combining the worst of the Bush era with the worst of her own president. She was wrong about >Iraq (voted for the war), about Afghanistan, about Syria, and about Libya. She was deeply in the pocket of the financiers >and plutocrats who make money from conflict, and I am happy that she lost.

Certainly Mr Trump is more interested in jobs forEricans than bombing Syrians.......

You know... suddenly going on a one way ticket to colonise Mars sounds very much more appealing....

Trump wants to get along with Russia, I see that as a good thing. Contrast that with Clinton who, while secretary of state, knew that government of Saudi Arabia was financing ISIL (see Wikileaks E-mails); they also donated to the Clinton Foundation, and she approved a massive arms sale to that government. I am so happy she has been taken out.

There is absolutely no way anyone can seriously answer "yes" to this question.

That's what I was thinking.

No it won`t be safer.Putin will see to that and shake up hotheaded Trump.Putin must be knocking back his stolis tonight drinking himself into a stupor thinking how ignorant is the so-called free world.

YUP!!

I really doubt that Trump would do all unprecedented policies he promised in public during the election campaign. Wonder if Trump can make his bills pass through Congress in the future. Most republicans and democrats seem against Trump's policies.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The problem is none of us, Trump included, know what he is going to do. Aside from rhetoric he has never articulated a clear foreign policy. That lack of certainty coming from a US president is something the world has never had to deal with, which by itself makes the world less safe. He needs to start getting concrete about what he intends to actually do in office and needs to do it now.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

I don't even think America will be safer with him as President....

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Now US has a president who know's who the enemy is...IT'S RADICAL ISLAM ! actually according to Trump its "ALL MUSLIMS"

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Absolutely not...He makes the world less safe just by being in it...

I'm happy there won't be a warmonger in the White House. give it time he has taken office yet.

Mr. Trump is scary. Just .... scary. I am NOT a democrat and have never voted for a democrat. I did not vote FOR Mr Trump.

I really expected Ms Clinton to get more votes. On paper, she is actually qualified. Underestimated the "Never Hillary" people.

It pains me to say it, but it is a very bad idea for Japan to rely on the U.S. militarily. Get ready for a rough ride ahead.
