Well a dog always listens to its master. So yes, the wa is being maintained.

No one has a "harmonious" relationship with Trump other than Trump himself.

Japan is busy kissing up to China via the Ozawa, Hatiyoma, and Kahn business development group..and Abe is slowly buying in..

Maybe so. But there is a clear reason he is president and that reason is Hillary.

People’s thoughts about her certainly are a big part of it. Along with gerrymandering, a broken electoral college, and Russian fake news. There are a lot of reasons for Americans choosing the inept mess that is the current presidency.

No, Trump is an idiot in a position he is in no way qualified for or suited to.

Trump doesn't have a harmonious relationship with anyone, including his current wife (or former wives for that matter)

You don’t know that. More left wing National Enquirer gossip.

It's obvious. Also since when is the NE left wing? I had a good laugh. You really are lost aren't you

bass4funk, The National Enquirer is Trump's friend's trashy magazine and Trump uses it to spread his lies. That rag has nothing to do with any liberals or people with commonsense.

I'm an American living in Japan. I love Japan and the Japanese. I love America and Americans. It is always difficult for any P.M. to be successful with any president. Okinawa, the Japanese kidnapped victims, U.S. military base expenses and associated problems, the security agreements and more. Trump only cares about himself. I think Abe is doing the best he can. I agree with those who say no one could ever have a harmonious relationship with Trump. I applaud Abe for swallowing his pride while trying to get the best deals possible for Japan.

It's Trump. Guess it depends on day of week or phase of moon or something like that.

If Trump were first female president of the US, I would say month. So would Abe.

Abe, like any good Prime Minister of Japan, knows how to keep a US president at arms length and stay under their radar at the same time.

"Abe... is a total wimp when he meets Trump."

Whaddya mean? He endured that long. long handshake that would have wiped out many others, didn't he? hehe

"Trump has no harmony with anyone."

Trump is a BOSS.

They have what is called a "master-lap dog" relationship.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

No, although Abe sucks up to Trump FAR more than any other leader in the world and feels he deserves to be treated better. He gets smacked around a lot more as a result, too.

Abe is "uchi benkei," a lion at home and a mouse abroad! He snarls and shouts and thumps the desk in Tokyo, is surrounded by thousands of security police and special troops when he comes to Okinawa and, as others have pointed out, is a total wimp when he meets Trump. Harmonious by definition perhaps!

Trump ignores Abe. Abe kisses his butt and doesn't ruffle his feathers.

I guess its harmonious.

How on Earth would we know? All we know is the highly filtered propaganda that comes down the line.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Abe seems very obedient. I get the sense Trump would be less tolerant of disobedience than most.

I suppose that’s harmonious.
