Trump is a good businessman and knows how to run it well but is bad at being a statesman

He is an American nationalist.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

Of course he is. He wants every country to succeed.

-32 ( +5 / -37 )

He is an enemy of the safety and future of the world. Hopefully next time he comes here someone will carry out a citizen's arrest on the criminal.

"Is U.S. President Donald Trump a friend of Japan?"

Depends on how much Japan bribes him, how many $.

13 ( +17 / -4 )

Trump only befriends despots. Trump is loyal to nobody but himself. Trump is an ugly despicable individual.

Trump is not friend of Japan or any other allied nation. Trump is a friend of Russia and North Korea and he like's China's Xi.

Nonsense! Of course Trump and America is not only an ally but a close friend, but the President definitely wants a more independent and strong Japan, nothing wrong with that. I agree with that.

He is an American nationalist.

...and Abe is a Japanese nationalist, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The globalist cabale, which wants to destroy nation states, has been going on for too long already.

A reminder that this a classic anti-Semitic trope/CT that regularly rears its head in the dark backwaters of the net. Shame it has become a thing here.

I agree. The above is nonsense.

And who is Trump, anyway, to determine what Japan does or doesn't do?

Trump basically likes anyone who likes him - despots, theocrats and other assorted crap along with democratically elected leaders.

Tickle his ego and he’s orange putty in your hands.

Trump is unique in that he is a friend of the US citizenry first, and the world second. Obama and others tried to be everybody's friend, while the rest of the world put their citizens first.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

He's no one's friend not even to himself

11 ( +12 / -1 )

He's more like your mother-in-law or father-in-law than friend.

Strange question. The best person to ask is President Trump.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Trump is definitely the best friend Japan has. The US under Trump has Japans back.

A better question would be:

Is U.S. President Donald Trump a true friend of anybody?

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Trump doesn't have friends. I think he only some vague notion that people exist. He doesn't have a very strong hold on reality. He's not even a good friend of himself. I think he is clinically insane and hope he is removed from office before he does any more damage.

Good point. I don't believe that he has personal friends in the sense that most people would understanf, and that is unsurprising given that he is likely to be high on the sociopath scale and is happy to drop associates at a moment's notice.

Trump was elected President of the USA not the world. Abe needs to grow a pair, plain and simple.

The globalist cabale, which wants to destroy nation states, has been going on for too long already.

This tired rightwing religious nutter conspiracy claptrap does not belong on JT. It if racist and wrong. The US shaped the global community after WW2 and now Trump is destroying that and giving it all away to his master Putin and to China. Trump pulls out of Syria and guess who moves in, Putin. All this is done so Trump can build a hotel in Moscow once he is impeached. Trump lovers support a traitor to his country.

Maybe it is a case of keeping friends close and enemies closer.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ONLY when trump wants something, otherwise trump will say WHO?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He's a friend to nobody. Just Putin's minion. Russia, if you're listening, release those pee-pee tapes!

He is an American white nationalist.

Trump is neither a friend nor a foe of Japan. He is just a self-serving narcissist

Trump doesn't care about the ballistic missiles the NK's are developing as long as they don't reach the mainland USA. Every time kim antagonizes Japan with his short range missiles, the more Trump appeases kim by providing the latter with more photo ops. instead of condemning it. I don't know if you can call this a friendship on part of Trump, but we spend billions of dollars maintaining all those numerous US bases around the country. And now we have to spend more to upgrade the old missiles defenses at the same time procuring new and more expensive ones, instead of using those funds to help our own citizens in dire need or maybe using those dollars to buy more imports to help not only the US agri-sectors but other manufacturing sectors as well rather than just defense sector. He is turning his back against US long time allies just like he turned his back against his Kurdish ally in Syria because " they didn't fight with us in Normandy" Now I see your logic.

He is an American nationalist.

He pretends to be one for show. Donald J. Trump has no intention to be a true friend of anyone but Donald J. Trump.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He is just friend of himself..

Trumps doesn't have friends, just associates
