Easy to get some diseases that are not so easy to get rid of?

I think joining a special interest or sports club then putting option 4 into play is good

Just be yourself; do thinks that you like. You will meet like-minded people in the places that you frequent. On-line NO. Especially in this part of the world, many sad things happening with on-line dating sites.

womanforwomen: I totally agree. If you are out there, doing things you love to do and meeting lots of people, the probability of finding someone who you really click with is quite high. It's really just about numbers. Also, you have to be aware of the vibes you are sending out. Best to focus on enjoying yourself and showing genuine interest in other people; as they say: It happens when you least expect it!

Actually met my lady on a site. Our long term relationship was not intended to be one at first, but we quickly learned we had way more in common and cared about each other more than we thought we would. Over 2 years and its going great. Could say we brought the best out in each other.

Still, I believe talking to people face to face is one of the best ways to actually date someone. My relationship was kind of a fluke, but a good one.

Use Japan today’s site and you can get to meet all sorts of interesting people, Nigerians needing money, Koreans that really want to visit you. No, I haven’t used it but a few years ago a friend did and he got some seriously odd comebacks. As to the question, the best way for those that are in need is money and if you don’t have any try to look as though you have, it may be shallow and dishonest but it is at least a beginning for those that seem to have trouble talking with members of the opposite sex.

Define GF / BF... if you just want to pickup the last two options... magazine or roppongi... if you want a real GF / BF that wont jump ship the second they see something better (roppongi / magazine people) then a friend of a friend or somewhere else that is not a bar or magazine.

Friend of a friend is a good way to meet people. Meeting people that way makes first introductions much more relaxed and there are no expectations. My friend invited me to a BBQ and I was introduced to a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. We've been dating for 1.5 years now.

Meeting people at bars is OK but there will always be competition and seeing guys fighting over girls always looks a bit pathetic.

The latest trends are: single fathers ( usually from USA,Canada, Jamaica, Ghana) who are looking for this woman who can love the father and child. The potential woman or partner gets all emotional with the story and sends money sometimes!

Jmen who want to help foreign ladies who are married to bad Jhusbands. The Jman's help is sought to get rid of the Jhusband, divorce the Jhusband, to extort the assets and property of the souse. (Generally targetting ladies from the poor asian countries).

Some asian ladies have managed to get a few thousand dollars from the Westerners seeking an asian partner for marriage.

Maybe the online does work for some.

Smile, eye contact and be yourself.

Initiate and promote a regional economic forum. Politics make strange bedfellows.

Be yourself and be friendly. And by friendly I don't mean jumping the next guy/girl that comes your way, haha.

Having to ask this question to others is a pretty surefire bet you're not going to in the immediate future.

Too bad there is no option of a mix of all of the above. My current gf I met online in a chat room, since we were the ONLY 2 people on at the time. Anyways I've been in a relationship with her for going on 6 years.

I also have been hit on at a bookstore, a girl was trying hard to get my attention and also twice on the train... So pretty much there are many many ways to meet people. I'd avoid bars myself since its not my style, but to each his/her own.

easiest way is go to roppongi and glue your Amex card to your forehead...you'll have all the girlfriends you need

@Stirfry-LOL!! I'll keep that one in mind the next time I hit Roppngi.

I'm surprised there is no "Go to Japan to teach English" option for most of the guys here.

I agree with most people here and be yourself and things will happen. But for shy people, I think friend of a friend is best. Me? I like meeting people in bars. Sounds cliched but it's often worked for me. But I don't like Roppongi. It targets the wrong types.

That's only going to work until the Japanese figure out 'skimming'; then the girls will stop making the effort. :)

Develop over time... don't try to get a date, people can pick it if you're on the prowl/desperate...
