"candidate mccain's campaign talks about Sen. Obama's aunt in a Boston slum."

Nah, they don't have the guts. It's up to people like me who raise these troubling questions. You don't think it's strange at all that Obama has a half brother and an aunt living in poverty and hasn't done a thing for them because you're mesmerized by the Messiah.

"Even the Economist endorsed Sen. Obama"

Yeah, there's a bunch of European publications who love Obama.

Even Arnold Schwarzenegger endorsed Sen. McCain.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What I want to know is when he's going to visit his aunt in that Boston slum, and if he's ever going to do anything for her other than return her $265 campaign contribution.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I give you exhibit A of why Sen. Obama will win the election today. Sen. Obama's campaign talks about the economy. candidate mccain's campaign talks about Sen. Obama's aunt in a Boston slum.

They have nothing to run on other than hate and fear.

That's SOOOO 2004.

Bye bye neo-cons. Good luck getting a gig on a reality TV show because your influence in American politics is done. Even the Economist endorsed Sen. Obama.

"the economy, education and health ARE ISSUES. And they are the ones Sen. Obama has been focusing on"

Yeah, he'd like the government to take over the economy, education and healthcare. What I want to know is when he's going to visit his aunt in that Boston slum, and if he's ever going to do anything for her other than return her $265 campaign contribution.

obama lived in indonesia at a time when the country did not allow dual citizenship. his mother's second third world muslim husband decided young barack's nationality. did he take an oath of allegiance to the United States upon his return? most likely not. why is this not an issue?

Whine all you like.

It's not an issue because the economy, education and health ARE ISSUES. And they are the ones Sen. Obama has been focusing on.

It's not an issue because it's ridiculous mud-slinging by a few petulant men/women-children who aren't going to get their way. The majority of Americans have seen through the pettiness of said argument and are rejecting it.

It's a beautiful day.

blackflig - It's a spoonful of surgar. and it will be a pill that is swwet! it will be more like 47% Obama and 49% McCain. and It is the undecided that will save the day. And don't forget, of course, with all the Accorns questionable ballot 'technics' I see Lawsuites. Lots of them !! And with 107 diffrent factions of the Accorn movement, there will be fingerpointing and Lawsuites. Alright, let's hear it for the rightous and the Supreme court. (:^D)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, you're going to need a big spoonful of jam to help swallow the bitter pill coming your way

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I see now that McCain's got 22% of the votes here and Obama's got 78%. No wonder there are so many ridiculous posts here. The actual vote will be close to 50-50, of course.

Badsey

Nice try. Bubba would be proud of you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As of now McCain is a citizen, but not a "natural born citizen"

obama lived in indonesia at a time when the country did not allow dual citizenship. his mother's second third world muslim husband decided young barack's nationality.

did he take an oath of allegiance to the United States upon his return?

most likely not.

why is this not an issue?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Congress has a non-binding resolution on McCain's eligibility as a "natural born citizen" --that in itself says he is not (logically why would you have done it then) For it to be law the constitution must be changed and the Supreme Court must rule.

As of now McCain is a citizen, but not a "natural born citizen"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

US Federal Law stated, "Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States."

USNin, that's true as far as it goes. What you DON'T say is that McCain wrote in that loophole himself in 1903!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Badsey

McCain doesn't meet the "natural born citizen" requirement.

US Federal Law stated, "Any person born in the Canal Zone on or after February 26, 1904, and whether before or after the effective date of this chapter, whose father or mother or both at the time of the birth of such person was or is a citizen of the United States, is declared to be a citizen of the United States."

Senator McCain was born on a US military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936. On what do you base your opinion that Senator McCain isn't a natural-born US citizen?

whoever is elected better shrink the government and let the people who know how to create jobs, the rich, do their thing ... something tells me that Obama just does not get this simple point ... watch him brag about new (sh##ty) jobs being created, though in 1-3 years ... Asia will no longer be investing in America at that point - they will keep their money in Asia and trade among each other for the most part because you can't do business with people who don't have (real) money

0 ( +0 / -0 )

if the vote came down to:

Obama (Demo-Crat) McCain (Re-Pub) Sponge Bob Square Pants (Cartoon Party) Joe the Plumber (Non-Accredited Plumbers Party NaPP)

I would probably vote for Joe the Plumber and give SpongeBob some serious consideration.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Bill Clinton is a felon and could never be a Supreme Court Justice.

McCain doesn't meet the "natural born citizen" requirement.

Obama is a liberal that is linked to radicals and terrorists (repeatedly).

Palin is a product of the Alaska school system, but knows how to shakedown Big Oil for money.

The pure logical choice is Palin for 2008, but some of Obama's plans are much better. Really if we fired all Senators, Congressmen, Lobbyists, President + Staff and jailed them under a forced labor agreement we could get a few million of our trillions back. Only Zimbabwe is doing worse than the U.S. Right now.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"I wonder if he and Dick will stick around to face arrest and possible execution for treason."

That is pure gold sabiwabi.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain, unfortunately, will lose.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

BurakuminDes I take exception to your remarks about Sarah Palin. America has lost its way these past few years. It is a country and a nation in decline, morally, spiritually and now economically as well. You need people like Sarah Palin at the helm, to restore America to the great nation it once was. Your dollar bills proudly state the words "In God Our Trust" but that has become totally hypocritcal, because as a nation you have turned your backs on the Creator and now He is turning His back on you. What goes around, comes around. America has chosen the path of godlessness in rejecting God`s laws which they previously cherished and enshrined in their laws. As a nation, America is now reaping what it has sown. Abortion is the murder of the unborn. Gay "marriage" is an affront to the Divinely-instituted order, ie marriage is between one man and one woman, for the pro-creation of mankind.

I wonder why you are so filled with hatred and intolerance and bigotry against Christians, whom you label "complete nutters, and conservative Christian religious loonys?" Whatever happend to Free Speech, so revered in your country previously? Your attitudes and your indwelling hatred just further prooves how low American society has sunk.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

there is not much either Obama or McCain can do, other than tring to stop the country from sinking entirely

Like starting a world war?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The interesting/sad part of this electoin is the country is already heading towards the whirlpool in the middle of the toilet and unless you believe in miracles there is not much either Obama or McCain can do, other than tring to stop the country from sinking entirely and no doubt either one of them will take all the blame for something that wouldn't be thier fault anyways.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

When MR.obama comes into office, you will see how the puppeteers will control his and your life.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama is, by a very thin margin, the lesser of two evils. But after Bush is out of office, I wonder if he and Dick will stick around to face arrest and possible execution for treason.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The only reason I want Obama to win is then that should shut up Hillary for a while and she won't try to push her bug-eyed daughter into politics, too. Bad new is, Bill may become a Supreme Court Justice -- bet all his aides/law clerks will be female...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain and Palin are for me. Some worry that Palin will be an asset if MaCain were to pass. It is Biden you need to worry about if Obama were to die. Biden has iching to be the prez for some time now. Palin is a more a real person then Biden. Deleware was a slave state and Biden, the racist, looks like one that could have been an owner. What a couple they would make. I bet Michelle was angry when Biden was chosen. Alaska is, at least, 10 times bigger then Delaware. In addition, you MUST be aware that with all the liberials pulling Obama's strings,( Dean, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, Schumar, Frank, Dodd ) the country WILL go down the toilet. It will take MANY Joe the Plumber's to fix this one.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The problem with your comments, Sarge, is that you would never attack the Republicans and never defend the Democrats, even if McCain new policy was to dig for oil in your garden. And when you reach that level, you can't expect anyone to take you seriously. Try being more objective.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It is a terrible choice, but looking at the croonies lurking behind Obama (who got a completely free pass from the media), plus the prospect of single-party rule in all houses, I have to say anybody but Obama is preferrable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As if the slant of this website needed to be proved.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge I think you mean Palin couldn't answer questions because the questions weren't in her script.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Voters like me are apathetic because we feel both paties are pathetic. But I wrote in Mickey Mouse on my ballot, a good patriot.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

NetteMarie - Palin couldn't spend all her time answering questions as she had to refute/correct many of Biden's inaccurate statements.

burakumin: "Do the world a favour for once"

Heck, we did that in 2000 and 2004. We saved everyone from Al Gore and John Kerry, didn't we? Sheesh.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You can vote for Obama, but the next president of the United States is going to be John McCain.

That sounds as foolish as saying that Obama needs a 15-point lead in polls to defeat McCain.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Can you Americans risk Voting for Palin? McCain could go at any time, with his tricky ticker (God, he is older than my Grand-dad...and he's dead) and then Palin would be installed. A redneck, pro-gun, pro-war, pro huntin', pro-Creationist, anti-condom, anti freedom of choice for women....in a nutshell, a complete nutter, a conservative Christian religious loony.

Do the world a favour for once, give Mr Obama and common sense a go.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You don't understand the meaning of self-glorified Sarge, people don't have to say they are "glorious". She picked an attribute about herself and broadcast it proudly.

In order to make this easier for you Sarge, she is a self-proclaimed (said it herself) proud pit bull in lipstick.

I watched the debate. I thought it was an interesting SPEECH from Palin, but I appreciated the fact that Biden answered questions.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

NetteMarie - Two questions:

Can you give me a link where Palin described herself as "self-glorified"?

Did you watch the vice presidential debate? I did, and I though Palin not only made much more sense than Biden, but was much more likeable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge

If you were reading everything and not just the words highlighted by Fox News.

I said "self-glorified pit bull with lipstick on", because she said it herself and she is proud of it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Nessie - "He's ( McCain's ) just not presidential material"

Colin Powell, who's supporting Obama, would disagree with that.

"NetteMarie" - "self-glorified" ( Palin )

Where do you get this stuff? Sarah Palin is not self-glorified in the least.

yabits - You can vote for Obama, but the next president of the United States is going to be John McCain.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I honestly think McCain would make a better president because of his experience. I think even Hillary would have been a better choice of president. However I would still vote for Obama to avoid the risk of ending up with President Palin. She makes Bush look like a genius. Seriously, 4 more years of Bush would be better than President Palin.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Nice results! Later today, I'll cast my real ballot for the next president of the United States, Barack Obama.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's only a bad thing if your the fat cat sitting on all the wealth.

Truer words were never spoken.

The trickle-down aspect of Reagan-omics never actually panned out. Full-time jobs were replaced by part-time positions filled with over-educated, under-employed workers.

Medical benefits disappeared in order to redirect more company profits into the pockets of shareholders and the coffers of CEOs.

The tax breaks that were supposed to translate into greater spending on the assembly room floor turned instead into new opportunites to skirt tax laws and hide assets through a wide variety of legal but ethically dubious loopholes and tax-shelters.

And the icing on the cake? Trying to hoodwink the American public taking their pension savings and . . . wait for it . . . investing in stocks, to help those shareholders and CEOs make an even greater financial gains that would in turn be shuffled into tax shelters that benefit no one but the rich and their accountants.

Truly and honestly the most sickening display of unmitigated greed in this or any other century. The Republican economic model brought us to where we are because it relies, correction, thrives almost exclusively on the unlimited human capacity for selfishness. And here we find ourselves in 2008, bailing these repugnant %$#@! a-holes out with taxpayer's money.

And the rich have the gall to whine about what's "fair" . . .

0 ( +0 / -0 )

LOL, it turns me on. Got to love the socialism.

Really the next US president is going to have to keep these socialist policies going to get us out of the trouble that a democracy market economy with a trickle down system got us into.

McCain keeps saying Obama wants to "spread the wealth around" like it's a bad thing. It's only a bad thing if your the fat cat sitting on all the wealth.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Nisegaijin

I would like to point out that a Republican led US just put $700 billion into buying shares in the financial market. Is that not socialist?

I think that smells socialist.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

OBAMA!

America, and the world, get ready for one of the most historic moments in all of America's storied history, the day when Americans finally voted in a woman vice president.

Sarge I don't just want to vote A WOMAN vice president or president. I, A WOMAN, want to vote an intelligent, global minded, well-spoken, and dignified WOMAN into office. I don't want a self-glorified pit bull in lipstick.

Thank you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

God Bless America...because nobody else will. Except for anyone with a leaning towards the democrats, of course. And anyone on the left hand side of the fence. And anyone tired of the Bush administration. And anyone who thinks abortion is a non-issue.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Alright America, brace yourself for 4 years of hard core socialism. It will make new deal look liberal.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Old Man McCain is a loser.

He's not a loser. He's just not presidential material.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ptolemy - You can write in Mickey Mouse - if you want to waste your vote.

meiwaku ( nice handle ) - For the sake of a better world, let's hope Obama loses.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Where is the Ralph Nader option?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

For the sake of a better world, lets hope Obama wins. Maybe he cant change things all at once but another war monger like Bush is the last thing we need. Unless you are a profiteer of course.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Currently only 19% of respondents are dangerously anti-American. That's refreshing.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hey where is Mickey Mouse? I feel cheated my candidate isn't a choice. I think the media needs a poll asking about the reliability of polls.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

rjd jr - I already voted for McCain.

America, and the world, get ready for one of the most historic moments in all of America's storied history, the day when Americans finally voted in a woman vice president.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I don't know who will win, but either way, by this time next year you'll be wishing the other one had won.

Why?

Because they are just two sides of the same coin --and right now that coin is in deep financial trouble, and it isn't going to get better soon.

So when things aren't all OK and you are worse off then you are now, a year from now, you'll (mostly) all be blaming the dude that won, and thinking the other one might have been better.

Except, of course, for the true believers that will be spinning the reasons the 'other' party is actually to blame.

In short, if you think any president can actually do much about the real problems, you are very much mistaken (or taken in --which is the plan of both 'parties').

You can think I'm full of BS now, but remember this post one year from now.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I already voted for Obama. It's not about hope at this point. McCain's presidency will go down as one of the worst and most ill fated attempts ever. From his disastrous choice of Palin all the way to this poor showings in the debate, McCain has symbolized everything that is wrong with America's current leadership, tired, old, and the laughingstock of the world.

America and the world, get ready for one of the most historic moments in all of America's storied history, the day Americans finally voted in an African American president.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I love the media.

Sarge, You're right about the AP Poll showing McBama and O'Cain neck and neck. The rest of the story or should I say, the beginning of the story ... from Newsday is:

While most national polls continue to have Barack Obama holding a statistically significant lead over John McCain, one survey released yesterday showed McCain within one percentage point of his Democratic rival. Wall Street Journal/NBC News and Pew Research Center polls out yesterday both put Obama ahead by double digits

So it all gets down to which poll people like the best or which poll fits people' idea of what should happen. Sort of like most opinions.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If the election had the same numbers as JT has right now it would make me very happy.

sarge the latest poll I read has Obama at 83% and McCain at 17%.

Reelect Obama in 2012!

TPOJ - Dream on.

So, we 've got 7 votes for McCain and 66 votes for Obama on this site. Tells you a lot about this site.

Actually, I would say it tells you a lot about the level of intellect necessary to operate a computer, but you made it on here...

Oh wait, sorry. BIAS BIAS BIAS!!!!!!!

Sarge you, much like the people you support, are going down in flames everywhere except in your imagination.

Sarah your comment please.

John McCain insisted Sunday that he is making a comeback and will defeat Democrat Barack Obama, discounting the Illinois senator’s lead in most national and key state polls.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

How about a comment on the fact that 68% of the troops back McCain and only 23% back Obama?

USAFdude addressed this.

Now please comment on both of the following.

Both of these men are qualified to be president; both will improve America's prestige in the world but who ever wins will first have to clean up a trillion dollar mess and that is going to be tough for anyone, even George HW Bush would have trouble.

I would rather Mike Huckabee be the president of the United States, but I guess I will have to settle with the most conservative one of the two, unfortunately McCain is losing this election.

It should be: who do you hope will be the next to next U.S. prsident, because 2008 presential election polls are over not only in the U.S. but all over the world and Obama is declared world-leader.
