In the US, tHe only people who play video game on consoles are middle aged men and super nerd teenagers. Little kds and vast majority of children play games on their phones.

Title should be who is "going" to win the console war. Sony if you go by E3 but at this time, not considering the new consoles coming out, I'd say Microsoft is still wining.

There was recently a well-written article published on Forbes.com discussing the end of the console era, and predicting these would actually be the last "traditional gaming consoles." With smartphones, tablets, and Steam, it's hard for consoles to make the return on investment they want, and they just aren't selling the way they used to. It's kind of sad to hear, but that's "progress" for you.

gogogoJul. 01, 2013 - 11:53AM JST Funny how people vote not knowing the facts Wii – 99.84 million as of 31 March 2013 PlayStation 3 – 78.4 million as of 31 March 2013 Xbox 360 – 77.2 million as of 31 March 2013

PC - Over 1 billion.

Consoles used to be cheap, have better graphics quality than PCs, be smaller, portable and generally custom-designed gaming machines.

Now they're expensive, have much the same graphics as a PC, are getting bigger and less portable, and are trying to de-specialise into things they're not designed to do.

From hand-held consoles to game consoles at home, I can't see anything but Nintendo winning. Nintendo is not my choice by any means -- you can only play so many versions of Mario Cart before you realize Nintendo has very little to offer, and their handhelds have always been a step behind and lacking in games, save when they had a growth spurt thanks to the education games like "Eigotsuke" and "Brain Training" and Kanji games (thanks, Aso!). Sony is by far the better hand held console, with games very much if not exactly like they are on the home consoles. The Nintendo version of Sims games, for example, is a joke!

@CruisinJapan

NSA has a console? NSA360 or NSAONE?

Wii U needs games. I currently have zero reason to buy one.

Microsoft seems to have learned somewhat from their DRM blunders, but they still lost a lot of support from it.

Sony is looking all-around strong.

Completely and utterly Sony. Microsoft's latest debacle (has anyone noticed they're not mentioning that the camera is still going to monitor everyone in the room constantly?) and WiiU's lacklustre performance (it's fun, but not insanely engaging long term) has had me sing praise for Sony.

BUT, that being said, I doubt I'll be buying into a console until later 2014 to see where the market really turns. Nothing is really making me so excited to jump on the wagon at release.

if they keep coming out with the same titles then who cares would be my answer. You can play against others in the virtual space whether they have an XBOX360, PS3 or Desktop. Nintendo is in a different category along with mobiles.

Still going for the PS4.

Sony has the games I like and they offer me more variety(multimedia) for the bucks vs a pure gaming console. The PS3 needed a better internet browser, apart from that services like TV, etc streaming vary between regions, etc.

Been using my PS3 as a blueray player and a DVR for years now as well as gaming and I can buy games online using a prepaid EDY-Card.

Is this were supposed to be a factual assessment it wouldn't be put to a vote now would it??"

I think the idea is knowing the facts before you vote. I'm guessing this is how Obama got elected… people didn't know the facts.

Nintendo is the best. That is all.

In another vote, who do you think would spy on you more, the new XBOX, or the NSA??

The perception is Sony is right now, but the Wii U is the only console for me and the only new console which actually exists until the end of this year, so we'll have to see if Nintendo can gain the kind of momentum for their Wii U as their 3DS now has.

The mobile phones are wining the battle
