Masayuki Yamamoto, a payment system expert, saying offline payments are designed to save time and money by eliminating credit card company approval procedures at the moment of use. He was commenting on phishing emails that lure vulnerable people to fraudulent websites and get them to provide their credit card details so the scammers can rack up contactless payment charges on the cards even after they have been canceled.

Yes, all correct but defending is the only thing these organisations can do. Meaning, always too late and after the facts. The culprits have the initiative and there will always be victims. Anything online, is without exception vulnerable to crime.

no system is really safe. It just depends on the determination and skill of the criminal
