It is thought that a greater number of people this year find themselves worn out due to the boost in activities in 'the post-coronavirus crisis' and the abnormally hot summer.

Time is arbitrary. If you are in Japan you can celebrate the new year in New Zealand at a reasonably civilised 8 pm and still be in bed by 9:00, perhaps on one of the beds the Tokyo-based health and sleep-related goods manufacturer is trying to flog.

Usually in bed before midnight.

Or, hear me out, no one really likes going to those nomikais? It's basically still work, only you aren't getting paid and since bosses aren't paying anymore, why bother going?

A lot of people that took the year end parties as an impossible to avoid obligation got a nice awakening during the pandemic where it turns out it is perfectly possible just to say no. For workplaces where the spirit of the parties was forgotten and it is just another obligation to harass the employees this means no more forced parties.

That would be a positive development in my book.

I do feel worn out.

The number of hours I used to spend at bonenkais, biting my tongue and trying to avoid telling my idiot bosses what we all thought of them while the witless arafos sat clutching a warm glass of white wine until they could leave the party and get back to their cats.

Id much rather sleep than spend another moment in that purgatory.

All I can say is my health has never been the same after that long pandemic. Feel weird and at no more than 85% of what I was pre-pandemic. Maybe some day they will figure out what happened to us.

Usually in bed before midnight.

But not always... need to party sometimes.

I prefer sleeping to most things.
