U.S. President Trump abhors trade deficits, and is determined to reduce the one with Japan, particularly by gaining access for exports by American farmers and automakers. Japan wants to head off Trump’s threatened penalties on auto exports, which could tip it into recession, as well as any 'currency clause' directed at the Japanese yen.

Negotiations? japans buying time till Trump is removed. Played, yet again!!

The hypocrisy of it all ... the current occupant of the White House and his family’s businesses have imported all sorts of goods, and perhaps continue to do it.

Don't forget what Trump said: America first and to hell with Japan. Isolate the US, find other trading partners and tell Washington to take their bases.

At this rate America's farmers are soon to be bankrupt! No markets and no workers to harvest the crops!

Oh well, there goes a lot of the tofu sold in Japan. Also my local grocer is not gonna like not having any U.S. lemons or grapefruits to sell.

When USA does well: Threat all other countries to open their economy to USA stuff.

When USA does not well: close all borders with protectionism.

Look at history this is a 20 years standard cycle for USA. Complete self centred nationalistic selfishness. Nothing new at all!
