quote of the day
Adults should realize that they could spread the disease to babies and infants. I recommend that people who have prolonged or heavy coughing symptoms promptly consult a doctor.

Yeah, because the waiting times at doctors' offices, and the three-weeks bags of medicines for a cough are going to do a whole lot, especially for breast-feeding mothers!

Whooping cough? I thought it was a predominantly 3rd world disease......

There is a massive revival in diseases that were once nearly extinct in the developed world due to anti-vax nut jobs.

That may not be the case for whooping cough. The article below says vaccination rates are at their highest, in the USA at least.

Yes, it's all true. Many infants get their first case of herpes from some dotting auntie or another too.
I think I'll let you just bow to my kids ... no hugs, no kisses thank you.

WC in the adult is a 'slight but persistent cough, which as others have pointed out, can be devastating for an infant and most cases, I am told, travel in adults first. If only WC, or any disease, were the worst thing children got from their adults. Hatred of their fellow Humans comes from the same source and is Mankind's most deadly illness. No 'vax' yet for that...and we'd have more 'anti-vaxxers' (term source: Pharmaceutical marketing) protesting against a 'vaccination against intraspecific hatred' than ever we will see protesting Big Pharma poisons.

I hope you don't mind me saying so, but your comment about people who have legitimate concerns about vaccinations is demeaning and offensive. Such people's concerns are borne out of research, facts and most of all love for their precious children and should be respected. If you feel differently, fine, but please show understanding for those who feel otherwise. Thanks.

Well said. Most diseases are preventable by careful hygiene and sanitation, wearing masks in risky situations, and maintaining a strong immune system via healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
