Make doctors are preferred in every country. I don't think its got anything to do with harassment or having a baby and quitting work. It's the trust and skill level of the physician. Make doctors are preferred in this respect so stop playing victim

I think you mean "male" rather than "make" in your post.

I disagree that this is a universal preference - I see no reason why I would prefer a male over a female doctor. In my country, 60% of those in medical school are female anyway.

Where men are preferred it is nothing more than sexism and discrimination. To paraphrase your final sentence, male doctors are preferred because of sexism, so stop playing the victim. But they are right to claim victimisation, because they are victims.

Imagine if you rewrote this line with "black" and "white" and suggested that as people preferred to be treated by white doctors, black people should stop playing the victim.

Yes, female cardiac patients have better outcomes if treated by a female doctor.

It’s nothing particularly Japanese about men working longer hours. That’s across the board in every country. It’s one of the main reasons for the gender pay gap too it seems.

Depending on the nature of the medical condition, some patients whether male or female may legitimately feel more comfortable being treated by a doctor of their own sex for modesty reasons, though even would be somewhat insulting to the doctor's professionalism. And beyond that, any preference is purely prejudicial and cannot be justified.

Japan's thinking seems to be along the lines of 'Why waste decades when you can just have slogans?'!
