Masao Koizumi, a rice farmer in Fukushima. Farmers and fishermen in Fukushima have called for further efforts to convince the public that their food is safe to eat after Taiwan decided to maintain its import ban on Japanese food from areas affected by the 2011 nuclear disaster.

I feel for him but every week when I order groceries online I avoid any products grown in the entire region. It's a shame that farmers have suffered immeasurably, ultimately twin disasters--what happened in 2011 and sadder yet, the repeated lies from both TEPCO and the national government (all of which is ongoing). Once trust is lost, it's extremely hard to regain.

Blame the JA. They failed to give accurate information on "Fukushima" products. The western half over the mountains were not, I believe, affected by radiation. The eastern side was covered with radiation. So, "Fukushima" = no thank you. Very sorry that western Fukushima has to suffer because of this refusal to be honest on the sources of agricultural products.
