As a national university, we'd like to offer an education without discrimination. If there will be more universities that accept transgender women moving forward, we'd like to offer the necessary information as a precedent. We hope this then leads to a society where the admission of trans students is so natural that it isn't even singled out as a topic.

Satomi Nishimura, vice president who also teaches in the Faculty of Literature at Nara Women's University. The university launched its trans-inclusive admissions policy from the academic year of 2020, accepting transgender students.

problem of japanese universities lies somewhere else...just check ranking of japanese universities worldwide and you may get answer or at least some hint...
