quote of the day
He serves as deputy prime minister, and as finance minister, is responsible for state finances. His message and his mindset, which have been spread throughout Japan and overseas, are an embarrassment.

She's not wrong...

Nothing to see here folks. Just sit back and laud his boss, PM-in-perpetuity Abe, for the overwhelming success of womenomics. No contradiction at all.

The same thing could be said about most of Abe's cabinet, particularly Abe. He chose them, didn't he?
Yubaru
Without Aso, Abe would fall.

He must have some appeal if he has made so many gaffs but survived so long without a scratch. One of those political anomalies that appear not only here , but around the world from time to time. Arrogant, pseudo intellectual, but somehow represents a strength that many seem to admire. You almost make him stronger by throwing criticisms at him. It’s the swagger I reckon. He’d be an interesting guy to talk to that’s for sure.

.
Renho is correct.
.
(Wish she'd make it as Prime minster. She is one sharp lady.)
.
Aso is a buffoon.
The only reason he holds this prime position ( for so many years) is bc of his rich connections.

The LDP has done NOTHING to encourage young people to marry, let alone have children.
.
Policies, such as
Tax Breaks for couples;
tax credits for each child;3. PAID maternity & paternity leave,
4. WOMEN are guaranteed their job back/ position back if they choose to take a year off to be with their child. . . .
These guys in the govt are all disengaged entitled rich kids.
They don't have clue how expensive and challenging it is to raise a family.

I think he probably appeals a lot to similarly disgusting old men with far more money and influence than is good for them.
