I hope that U.S. President Trump will take up the abduction issue during talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He showed understanding of the matter when we met last November.

Let's hope to that.

THIS is why Japan cannot be allowed at the table. The abductee issue is a bilateral one, not at all related to the nuclear issue, and is not even nearly pertinent by comparison. Abe needs to try and stop his isolation tour of NK and try to open talks on that issue separately.

Japan, no one really cares about this topic except Japan!
