quote of the day

I know it is a special season for students to get together and socialize for graduation, enrollment, new employment and other things, but I urge them to be cautious in what they do and think about preventing the spread of infection.

What I can't understand is why different prefecture governors and Japanese government is so slow in informing the public about such things? Would it not make a big difference if the government and government officials inform the public earlier about such restrictions? All they have to do is be firm, be early with sharing information and keeping the public updated so people can plan ahead and know what they are facing with. It takes strong leadership and using wise authority. I am sure the Japanese people would be more appreciative rather than keeping the public updated about the Olympics?

Another case of a public statement from a person in charge that's neither here nor there.

....get together and socialize for graduation, enrollment, new employment and other things, but I urge them to be cautious in what they do...

Yeah, because the virus will target all those cases of socializing and ignore all those sitting together in confined classrooms and offices, and packed together on the daily commutes.

Officials are pleading with young people to stop partying during the pandemic.

Yeah, because the virus will target those partying and ignore all those sitting together in the canteen at lunchtime.
