Which will be nothing. Abe couldn't last one term as PM, nor did he do anything beneficial for Japan while PM. Nor has any other country been able to do anything to change the situation there. And while the Chinese-Japanese diplomatic situation remains as it does ... could anyone take his comment seriously?

You can hear the laughter all the way from Beijing. Japan can't even see China off from the Senkakus,

"everything in my power", says Abe.

Translation: "Absolutely nothing at all".

This is a man who by his own admission, cannot control his own colon. China is laughing at us.

@ globalwatcher

The bad news is, that he is a normal japanese Politician. The good is... there is no good news. The really bad news that Japan will soon have an Abe/hashimoto or a Hashimoto/abe government As Japan always learns well from the US, before the war against China will be declared, they will interr all those gaijins like us....

I think I'll start collecting quotes of what Abe, Ishihara and anyone else not in power say before the election. Then contrast them with what they say in two months time. Noda will go down as one of the most effective prime ministers of the first quarter of the 21st century.
