quote of the day

I think his whole arrest was unnecessary. This could have been resolved internally. This did not need to be a criminal case. Nissan and the prosecutors have collaborated to do this global character assassination of my husband.

Quite true !

From the very beginning we have seen the fallout of this shameful example of a mindset determined to turn Japan inwards again by any means necessary. It reeks desperation. On show for the world to see is a complete lack of a moral compass and sophistication, the inherent incompetence of collectivist style thinking, police and judiciary collusion, and the level of cruelty that these types are capable of. (not allowing Ghosn to see his own wife) Now Nissan’s image and stocks plunging.

It should be evidence enough that the whole thing has been a terrible , terrible mistake. For those that want to see Japan navigate the world through its many strengths it’s been particularly saddening. Just hope this case becomes a shining example of what NOT to do in future. Hopefully first year university students will eventually be studying about what lengths their old guard went to, and the conditions that led to these grave levels of misjudgment.

Nissan and the prosecutors have collaborated...

That's true. The prosecutors have granted plea bargains to the main sources of the allegations, two Nissan execs, and their identities are being kept secret.

This could have been resolved internally.

No way. Shareholders and the ones who got slashed in bloody bath never ever allow for internal resolution.

Man that in recent times achieved better than all others tpo exec's in auto industry and took less than most others in a same position gets abused because they do not feel that they need him any more. It is not the first time but it is a one of the worst examples of a kind.

She's 100% correct. And lets hope this remains in the media spotlight until the powers that be are shamed into changing this disgraceful system

It could have been; however, if they did that, then they wouldn't have been able to make an example out of him. This is a warning to all of us that want to change the work culture or demand higher salaries.

Every 'rational' person in the world who has even a basic knowledge of this case knows her comments to be true. Ghosn was clearly set up by a bunch of backstabbing weasels with Sakaiwa at the front. His treatment since his arrest/s has been a huge breach of civil rights for any person who has not been convicted of any crime. The Japanese injustice system will keep pressuring him and denying him any civil liberties until he faces the kangaroo court in which he is already guilty and has to prove himself innocent. This is the major difference between the Japanese judicial system and a true 'democratic' court system. In a true democratic system, you are innocent until proven guilty. However, in Japan, they remove all your civil liberties and interrogate you for hours a day without your counsel present all in a pathetic attempt to force you to confess. This is because the Japanese prosecutors are as useless as boobs on a bull and couldn't prepare a decent prosecution case to convict a J-walker. Free Ghosn and arrest that weasel Sakaiwa!

She's 0% correct. Corporate entities owe their entire existence to the state. When a representative director of a corporation breaches his/her statutory directors duties, it absolutely becomes a matter for the state to prosecute criminally. Nissan is not some sort of informal private club where this would be an internal matter.

Even if you believe that everyone around Ghosn plotted to stitch him up and rat him out for their own personal gain, the fact remains that nobody forced Ghosn to do the things he's accused of. If the allegations are proved true, he will have been the author of his own misfortune.

Of course YOU think that Carole. You benefited directly from Carlos sending money to your fake companies, and your homes and parties being paid for by Nissan, too. Take it from the source, jeez.

I'm all for 'innocent until proven guilty', but there is evidence that this guy stole money. That is not something to be handled internally. Sorry lady, there are too many signs that point to your hubby possibly being a criminal.

Sorry, Carole... fact is, he's not Japanese. If he were, it most certainly would have been done internally, with no arrests. He'd be like what Sakaguchi or whatever the lout who took over from his is now facing.
